I could get used to this.

I was finally on line tonight. Didn’t touch register once. Goddamn, I’ve never worked so little. So stress-free. Customer-free, for the most part. I was doing sandwiches, which isn’t all that hard. I was a little nervous at first, I don’t know why. But that wore off as the evening went on.

Matt was primarily teaching me. He was so happy to have wenches to boss around. There was a n00b brian on soups. … He scares me. Me. Of all people. Just how he comes across to me. He could have been better as a worker. But eh, his first day. I only know how to consolidate because I can read the screens. Cashiers should know everything that can be punched in.

Barbara was also around, because Beth called out. She left at 8. She was primarily around for when Matt was on break.

I preclosed like a mofo. Like I always do. We were lucky that there weren’t too many orders towards 9 PM. I was out by 10:30. Which is good, considering.

I did Cliff a favor by not stacking all the metal tins together. When I’ve done dishes, I hated having to pull them apart.

Um. Yeah. It was nice not making myself responsible for everything. Just focusing on one thing and otherwise relaxing. I’m not quite ready for normal lunch rush, but I would feel comfortable helping out at night. If I knew salads, I could easily run line by myself. Well, maybe not easily. But, as I say, I know how to read the screens. That helps so much. I can’t imagine learning line without knowing what everything means.

As usual, I helped the bakery girl close bakery. Just setting up the table and writing on register table where all the bagel signs go.

I walked to work. It took me ten minutes. That’s all. I may be tempted to just walk to work all summer. Maybe. I bummed a ride from Vanessa. Because who really wants to walk home at night?

I like reading about your work for some reason 🙂 You make it interesting. I always read, but don’t always leave notes.

you’d be surprised how tough line can get working it virtually by yourself… even in the evening (during the lunch rush it would be impossible). i asked to be let off early today. i worked 8:40. hrmph. oh well.

*sigh* Enh, sometimes it’s alright. But when you’re really really exhausted, you really, really want a car. And your feet are no longer sexy.
