Maybe I’m the exception, but I’ve had very good experiences with our Kinky DiaryMaster, Bang Bang Bruce. …Wait, I thought I stopped calling him that a year ago.

Whatever.

My high opinion of him was formed when I was suspended. (You’ll ask why. I’ll answer it was because I made my handle look like “The DiaryMaster”. I’m the reason you can’t use non-displaying characters or html in diarynames. Go ahead, spank me.) I didn’t see a malicious person out to get me. I saw a scared programmer who feared for the safety of his website. After “reviewing” my note history and such, he restored my diary less than 24 hours later. I was almost disappointed, I was ready to become a martyr. *laughs* As far as I know, I’m the only person to ever be suspended and fully restored. (Let’s not get into the Mister Kat saga.)

Anyway, whenever I have problems with OD, Bruce has always been rather prompt about fixing them. In the past, I’ve had people create diaries specifically to harass me. I reported them, and Bruce smited them for me. I’ve seen random html errors. I’ve reported them. More recently, I gave a friend a gift subscription to save her from the horrors of freeloaderland. Everything seemed to be in order, including 12 dollars missing from my checking account. Except, the subscription didn’t materialize. So, I reported it. This was last night.

I came online today to discover it was fixed. The email from Bruce was timestamped 9 AM. That’s good enough response time for me.

Thing is, I wonder if people even realize the reporting system exists. Instead, people bitch and somehow, those entries get RCed. *smacks forehead* Come ON people. We can do better than that. But, let’s not start talking about what ends up getting RCed.

I’m very content with our DiaryMaster. He’s like Bill Clinton. He’s human. He tries. And, more importantly, he’s our DiaryMaster. Um. Sappy sap sap. This entry is now over.

It’s really too bad an author can only have one entry on RC at a time. I wish this one could be up instead of all the political fighting and the pleas to the DM for help. He does a lot of hard work, and it sucks that so many members are ingrates.

I remember when you got suspended. I still think the whole thing was pretty funny – I wish I was clever and computer-savy enough to do something like that. His staff has always helped me when I needed it, so they can take my $12 and buy something nice for themselves.

I reported someone once,and that person was suspended within hours. I was dutifully impressed. Even with all their problems on OD, I have no real complaints. OD works a hell of a lot beter than Win98 ever did, and I paid a crapload more for Win98 than I do for OD.

I completely agree. Something’s always been done by the DiaryMaster for me within 24 hours, so that’s pretty cool. I don’t have any complaints either. 🙂 <3

I like him for the most part. The only time he really pissed me off was recently when a gift sub wouldn’t go through for a friend of mine. It took him nearly 2 weeks to answer me and almost 2 more weeks for him to actually fix it. But it’s all good now.

I don’t know if I’ve ever found anything decent in RC. *shrugs* I venture there rarely, but when I have, I’ve mostly just seen badly-written porn. Oh well… Oh, Timmy, I can always count on you to stick up for Bruce. 🙂

I still call him Bang Bang sometimes. And yes, he isn’t really malicious, and he DOES try to fix his mistakes. I feel bad for him sometimes because he catches so much flack for having a slightly imperfect site.

How do you do it? I’ve been on this site for well over 3 years and have only received a response from the DM once. ONCE! I know everything about the reporting system and how to use it. Oh well, I guess once is better than never! 😉

Very true… for all of people’s bitching, I’ve never had a problem with the DM. He’s usually gotten on top of problems I’ve reported pretty quickly, and he even left me a note once.

I threw up a little. *smirks* I use all the channels yet I still get somewhat complex problems that take a bit to fix. I give the BOD to all my situations. I like it here, no lie, but…eh. I’ve got ideas.
