Beheading Nick Berg
I saw the video of Nick Bergs execution today.
The strange thing is that I thought it would be nothing new. Im the person who spent years wanting to live a Natural Born Killers movie. Im the person who would watch Faces Of Death movies, and ones much more real and graphic, (for those of you who dont know, thats a movie series that is a collection of people whose deaths are caught on film). Im the one who actually saw footage of a cult cutting the head off of their sacrifice victim and thought it looked cool.
Yet despite that all, I found myself spellbound and thinking when I saw the grainy footage that is customary of internet video.
Every news source that Ive heard or seen so far has called his death a beheading. If you havent seen what happened, he wasnt beheaded. His head was slowly sawed apart from his neck with a dull knife. The fact that he felt a majority of it was evident by how he screamed through the process until the fuck with the knife pulled his head back and slit his throat, thus cutting his windpipe and jugular.
I find it funny how so many Americans, from the comfort of their homes and offices and the protection of our borders have been raising holy hell over the supposed human rights abuses committed by a few of the soldiers in Iraq. Well, perhaps funny is the wrong word.
After watching this video, it pisses the holy fucking hell out of me that people try to make us out to be the bad guys. So fucking what if we humiliate some people in order to try and get information? So fucking what if we rough them up a bit? Ill be willing to bet that those who try to say that we are suddenly no better than these pieces of shit over there havent seen this video.
You know what? We may strip them naked and let a woman gaze upon their dirty, Muslim bodies. We may stack them in pyramids and humiliate them. Hell, we may even force them to fuck each other or do whatever else is on all the unreleased pictures that supposedly exist. But you know what? We dont saw their heads off with a dull knife.
I find it ironic how the area of the world that is supposedly considered the cradle of life, the area where humanity and civilization is said to have began, is the area of the world that is generally the most barbaric and the most restrictive and the most behind the times.
I was watching the first season of The West Wing tonight and I was reminded of something I learned back in school in history. Did you know that when the Roman Empire was at its height, Romans could go anywhere in the known world without fear of being robbed or hurt or kidnapped or otherwise injured? The reason for that was because the Roman Empire valued its citizens so much that it would do all sorts of things, including going to war, to avenge any mistreatment of its citizens. Thus, very few Roman citizens were mistreated because people knew the consequences of doing anything bad to a citizen of Rome.
The terrorists of 9/11, those who support them, those who fight alongside them, those who think they are doing the will of God by killing off us infidels are nothing more than walking pieces of shit. They are willing to kill any of us, any of you who read this, and will if given the chance. They dont seek understanding, they dont seek acceptance, they dont seek peace, they arent seeking freedom. They deserve no pity when they are killed or captured or humiliated or REALLY tortured. Hell, if theyre right theyll get their reward in heaven anyways.
One thing I find funny is how there is no huge public outcry from the majority of Islam. People talk all the time about how these terrorists are only radical fundamentalists and how their actions arent condoned by the rest of the worlds Muslim population. Why then is it so damn hard, in fact nearly impossible, to find Muslims who are willing to openly oppose these radical fundamentalists?
Anyhow, here I sit. In the comfort of my home in the safety of suburban Minnesota. In my bedroom, at my computer, a bit inebriated, listening to the rain gently fall through my open bedroom window, and no better than Nick Berg.
The President and those in the government have made a point to let it be known that the war against terrorism isnt a war against Islam. After thinking about it though, perhaps thats exactly what we need. Maybe Muslims are really born and raised to be nothing more than suicide bombers and terrorists. Maybe the only way to ensure our safety really is with their extinction.
Or maybe Ive just had too much to drink and just need to stop typing.
I dont know…! I dont know anything about them to be honest, i think we;d both be better off, if we pretended one another diddnt exist

I have to agree that there is not comparison to what they did to Nick Berg and what the soldiers did to the prisoners at Abu Ghraib. But either way they were both inappropriate. I get paranoid just thinking about it all.

RYN:yeah. That ending of Big Fish really got to me. Ha. I watched in in a theatre called Alamo theatre…where you can eat while you watch the movie. It was weird. We ate pizza and a pitcher of beer. 🙂

I maintain the position that a couple well-placed nukes would turn that whole area into one big sheet of glass.

I just watched the video myself, out of curiosity. I watch some of those Faces of Death too. I’m such a timid person that I find that exposing myself to that stuff helps desensitize me to it so that I’m not blindly phobic to seeing it in movies and such. Is that weird of me?

And you say you are not a writer. Ha!

I really feel bad for you. Are you seeking help for your problems? Get in touch with me if you’d like. Just leave me a note with your contact info. I didn’t take your entry seriously or to heart, I just think it’s wrong how people stereotype, that’s all.

I haven’t seen the video yet, and personally…I don’t think I want to. I’d probably break out crying. I find the whole situation fked up that we are getting reprimanded for treating prisoners like prisoners, but our own people are getting murdered…all in an effort to make life better for them. Save the money and make life better for us here in the US. At least we’ll appreciate it.
