Cause…and Replies To Some Notes

This is something that I’ve thought about for a fairly long time (off and on of course), but I’m just getting around to writing it.

Humans have to be the most inquisitive freaking creatures around. No matter what happens, we always want to find out why things are the way they are, why certain things happen, why things are the way they are, etc. etc. etc.

I suppose in a way I’m no different, and I’m just a guilty of being human as everyone else.

People look for a reason for why we’re alive, and look for what caused things to be the way they are. Every time something happens that is “bad” or “criminal” people have to investigate things and find out how events happened, what the motives behind them were, and all that. Even when people die it’s never enough for people to say, “Yep, he’s dead.” Instead we have to perform autopsies on everyone in order to determine the CAUSE of death, because WE HAVE A NEED TO KNOW.

I think I’ve decided to protest being a person.

It’s no big secret that I’m not too fond of being a part of humanity, but then again I also think that protesting things is a waste of time and usually tend to rip on any and every person I come across who is protesting something.

I really am going to try though, to stop being this way. I’m going to try not to ask why things are the way they are, where we came from, what has caused us to become what we are.

I think one of the things that sucks about living in the “universe” as we know it is that our comprehension is limited. We think everything has a beginning and an end, that everything happens because of other things that happened before it. It seems somehow impossible and incomprehensible for something to just be, or just exist, without reason or purpose (unless we call it God).

Anywhose, enough of the ramblings of a nobody.

So now onto some answers to notes…(no hard feelings here, but I figure if you ask questions that I should try to answer).

“You named off a list of things you have to do to obtain eternity with God. The Bible only mentions one thing hon. Believe on the Son. That’s it. (HalfAWorldAway).”

Ok, so what does believing entail? Is it just an intellectual ascent or agreement with something? Or is it something that so profoundly affects me that my entire life changes?

I’ll put it this way; there is an apartment building on fire. There is a woman caught on the fourth floor and the firemen have the trampoline deal ready on the ground. They tell the woman to jump and they’ll catch her. Now she believes with all her heart that they’ll catch her, yet she doesn’t jump, and burns to death.

Another woman on the opposite side of the building is under the same circumstances. But instead of just “believing” that the firemen will save her, she jumps out of her window and acts on her belief. Thus, her actions combined with her belief, is what saves her.

I know the Bible seems to make it very “simple,” but there is quite a bit of things that depend on us. Maybe salvation is a free gift, but obtaining that gift seems to entail much more than the scripture writers decided to tell everyone about.

Part two…”As for God’s love. If He didn’t love us, he wouldn’t have provided a “way of escape”

In reality, God didn’t make us sin. We were created perfect. We chose sin.

Free will isn’t punished. Sin is punished” (HalfAWorldAway)

Is it really love if I offer put you in a loose-loose situation and then offer you “a way out” of the situation that “you choose” to be in?

Perhaps God didn’t make people sin, but he knew that if he gave people the option that they would, so what does that make him for giving us the opportunity anyways?

As far as the being perfect thing…

The Bible says we were created in God’s image (which scholars and Bible professors view as meaning that we had his “nature”). Yet, if it is so impossible for God to sin, how was it seemingly so easy for people to sin if they had the same nature as God?

Anywhose, I could go on for a long time debating God and all that. I think that if he’s real that he shouldn’t need a defense. If he’s real and really “God” that he should be able to prove himself without anyone else’s help.

Again, sorry for putting you on the spot but you asked things that I felt like answering.

“I’m drunk

And right now I’m so in love with you

and I don’t wanna think too much about what we should

or shouldn’t do.”- Nine Inch Nails

Good arguments. Plus, they’re in green letters, which is always a bonus for some reason. I like the lyric at the end, too.

Ha! Amazing! Drunk huh? wow? and so well thought out? How bout maybe a lil buzzed, didnt seem Drunk to me 🙂 Would a forgiving father throw his son in a pit of fire for not cleaning up his room? Thats my argument on the whole thing. I know i wouldnt do that to my child that i so loved! And im not as forgiving as God is portrayed.. Food for thought is all… I dont blame ya on the cancer thing.

RYN: My Uncle Danny sent me that in an email. I like sharing some of the stuff I receive, if I belive it’s worth sharing. 🙂 Come back. You just have to find the right pages for the jokes ahhaha.

RYN: I bought S Club 7 CD Sunshine. I ordered it a week ago. I don’t really wear jewelry. I have 4 necklasses I wear but they were all under 5$ a piece. I don’t really wear rings and I occasionally wear earrings, but I get the cheapo sets of those. And I believe in prayer but I guess that’s for each individual to decide for themselves. 🙂 Have a nice day

People just can’t make up their own minds and think for themselves. You think with all the curiousity we have we’d be more accepting of differences and change and new/different ideas. But… oh well. *sighs* I like to protest being a person also, sometimes. Especially lately. Take care…:)

Our beliefs should change our lives. I agree. But, if someone REALLY “gets saved” and then doesn’t change for say…ten years. Were they not saved ever saved? Of course not. Because IF they believed they’re still saved. Regardless of how quickly they change. I guess sometimes change is slow.

Obtaining the gift, only entails believing that..1 you are a sinner. And 2 that Jesus died and rose again to save you. The resultin gchange in your life, would be because of the change in your heart. But like I said before…sometimes change is slower.

It wasn’t a lose lose situation when humanity was created. And its still not a lose lose situation. Cuz now, we can go to heaven. If we so choose. Its all in choice. It was a choice to sin, which wrecked everything for the rest of us. And now its a choice to go to heaven. Its still about choice. We’re making the same decision I guess Adam and Eve were making. Do we love and trust G

As to being perfect. Yeah, we were created in Gods image. EXCEPT God isn’t human. Therefore he has not and will never sin.

GAH! that was supposed to be “do we love and trust GOD” not G. But anyways, I love you Jaimie. I hope you have just a wonderful time picking up nate :-PLOL And nah, you didn’t put me on the spot. You should know by now I don’t mind. Talk at you later

Gee willikers Batman! I think someone who threatens to torture you for eternity if you don’t do things their way, has some seriouse issues. I believe in right, and wrong. And if someone is a good person, life will be a little easier. Doesn’t Heaven and Hell sound like a bribe? If you are good, you get this, bad you get that. SCREW THAT! :0) later babe-
