Idol

Ok, I wasn’t feeling much like writing a lot today, so I made a poem.

I actually had the idea for this a while back. It’s a poem about someone that I consider to be very musically talented. If you honestly can’t figure out who it’s about, I might tell you at the end.

Lost in this world you’re the one I look up to

A “Pinion” that’s anchored down beyond my soul

Though we’ve never met you still seem to know me

Somehow you got into my “Head Like A Hole”

As we descend this long “Downward Spiral”

Viewing all things that should never be seen

All hope of a rescue was long since forgotten

Our whole lives are in this “Pretty Hate Machine”

And I “Hurt” myself just to see if I feel

All of this “Sin” that’s held deep down inside

Though I can’t describe how it pushes me “Closer”

Because I can’t believe in the “Terrible Lie”

Watching and waiting in “The Great Below”

Seems like it’s been so long since I “Gave Up”

Remember the “Reptile” and how she changed me

As I went to become “Mr. Self Destruct”

“The Mark Has Been Made” and cannot be diminished

There’s no magic “Eraser” to help ease the pain

“Just Like You Imagined” now I am “The Wretched”

“The March Of The Pigs” slowly prance through my brain

Now you know this is “Something I Can Never Have”

“The Frail” thing, this poetic recital

So much “Complication” and yet you must see

And know that in truth that you’re my only idol.
