Survived another crazy day.
Bad news today, though not surprising – my friend H and her husband are likely headed for divorce. This is sad because they have three beautiful little girls (ages 5, 3 & 1), but not entirely unexpected as they’ve been fighting like crazy for the last several months. I hope H’s husband doesn’t do anything stupid like lock her and the kids out of their house, because I will send DH to kick his ass and tell him to man up if he does, but I’m hoping they can put their differences aside long enough to work out what will be best for their kids in the long run.
Speaking of DH, I just helped him prep a turkey that he will be deep-frying in the morning (using his infrared fryer, which is an awesome piece of equipment) for his office’s Thanksgiving luncheon. My throat is scratchy now because I coated it liberally with Tony Chachere’s, and inhaled a little too much of the stuff. I’m a little disappointed that he isn’t going to be able to fry a turkey for our Thanksgiving dinner this year, since his mother has insisted on making the turkey, but we’ll still get to have fried turkey for Christmas this year.
We’ve gone to Florida for Christmas and New Year’s for the past two years, and this year DH said he really wanted to stay home – and I was happily surprised that my sister and my mom decided to come up here for the week of Christmas. It will be great to see them, my sister and my nieces especially! I’m really looking forward to it.
Going to bed now. G’night.
Christmas sounds perfect. I feel bad for anyone going through divorce. I don’t think you realize how much it hurts the kids until you go through it. I’ve never had deap fried Turkey but I hear its awesome.

I love fried turkey! My mom is insisting on doing everything her way for Tday this year, so I get no fried turkey. But come Christmas…it shall be mine!
