Happy Election Day, America!

DH went to the polls first thing this morning, and stood in line for almost an hour.  I went around 10am and was in and out in 15 minutes.

I know many polls are already closed (and of the few who read me, many aren’t even in the US), but if you are able to vote I hope you did so.

Big election days make me miss my dad. It’s been nine years since he died, and it still hurts like hell when I think about him – but I remember how much he enjoyed volunteering at the polls on election days, and it makes me wish all the more that he was still alive – not so he could volunteer, but so that my kids could have the chance to know him.

On that sad note, good night.  I’m trying to decide if I’m going to stay up and watch election results or take a Tylenol PM and not even think about results until the morning.

Did you go to sleep or wait it out?

Were you happy with the results of the election? *HUGS* I’m so sorry that your dad is not here to share this with you.

Funny it was on tv here too and my daughter remarked that it was like a sporting match! It’s compulsory to vote here
