Monday
Ice-skating was awesome! I had thought it was just going to be me and one other girl, who is nice but kind of quiet, but there ended up being five of us in all and we had a great time. The rink was pretty small, and I didn’t bring the right kind of socks so I have a nasty blister on my right leg, but nonetheless it was fun – and apparently one doesn’t forget how to ice skate, even after 20 years and 60 pounds 🙂 I was pretty pleased with myself. Also, we got frozen yogurt afterwards, and they had peanut butter, which is pretty much my favorite flavor of everything, so that was cool.
Yesterday we had some people over to watch the game. Some of my D&D friends weren’t thrilled about skipping a gaming day for a football game, but they came anyway and had a good time. I appeased them by taking them to a fabulous comic book store near my house before the game started. Anyhow, we had tons of food and good company, and I was really happy with the game because I freakin’ hate Tom Brady and Bill Belichick and enjoyed watching them lose.
The only downside of the weekend: though my cold got better, on Saturday night it morphed into laryngitis and I had virtually no voice yesterday, and only have a bit of a voice today. Also, Sophie has caught the cold now, so she’s a snot machine – and you can imagine how pleasant that is. Poor thing, I hope she feels better tomorrow.
I attempted Week 7 Day 1 of the C25K program today, and almost did it successfully – I really think it’s a mental block keeping me from running 20 minutes straight. I walked for two minutes in the middle of it and did fine, hopefully on Wednesday I won’t psych myself out!
Glad you enjoyed your iceskating time! I haven’t done it in years! Sounds fun:) Hope you’re all over your sicknesses soon!

Feel better! I went almost an entire week without a voice, it was miserable. Hopefully Sophie feels a lot better soon too! I’m glad you had a good time ice skating! I haven’t done that in years either… you make me want to go 🙂

Ryn: That would be so awesome! I was thinking around noon, so we could have lunch then shop if you want. If the other mall you mentioned before is better, I don’t mind meeting you there instead. I’m pretty flexible!

ryn: Hehe ok here’s the thing: Lush has this thing where you can return five of the black pots to a big store and get a free face mask, which you can only get in the stores. So I have like… 20 pots I desperately need to get rid of! LOL! But seriously, if it’s too much trouble to go to Perimeter, I’m happy to go to the Macy’s counter instead. My number is 423 693 5936, can’t remember if I’ve gotyours somewhere or not, but better give it to me again because I have holes in my brain.

Awesome! I’ve only ever ice skated once, and I was crap at it. Peanut butter EVERYTHING is great!

I’ll go anywhere I can get something vegetarian/not-too-fattening. There’s an amazing Thai place nearby but not right in that area, and I imagine the kids would hate it so probably not the best option lol. Would Cheesecake Factory be suitable? Just don’t let me get any actual cheesecake or I won’t fit in my car to go home. I would LOVE to see the kids, by the way! I hope Sophie feels better!

Yum, I love that place! Ok I can try for 11:30, though the traffic may or may not cooperate. 🙂 I’ll text you when I leave in the morning, so you have a good idea of my timeline. It takes about 2.5 hours usually, so I’ll shoot for 9am. We can meet at CF, and if it’s really crowded, we can shop first or entertain the kids for a while. 🙂 I’m so excited!

I never learned to ice skate, but I did enjoy roller skating as a teenager. This makes me want to go roller skating again. I wonder if the same is true for roller skating and you don’t forget after 20 years. It’s been over 10 years since I have roller skated.
