NoJoMo #12
Today is just busy, busy, busy – but that’s good, it’s all fun stuff with the kids. We went to a birthday party this morning, and they had a great time, though both of them sustained minor injuries in the bounce house (Sophie cracked heads with another little girl and now has a fat lip, and David jumped funny on his knee and is limping around like a little cripple – DH looked at it and said it isn’t anything serious, he should be fine with a little rest).
Tonight we have a Thanksgiving dinner with one of our homeschool co-ops, so we’re heading over there around 5pm. I made Paula Deen’s pumpkin cheesecake as our contribution – I may have written about that yesterday, now that I think of it, I can’t recall – anyhow, Sophie stuck her fingers in one of them as it was cooling so we decided to sample that one last night and it’s DELICIOUS.
Albert is doing pretty well. He’s eaten a little more, and DH took his IV out this morning so he can run around a bit too. Last night was interesting – we went to bed at 11pm, and DH had to get up with Albert at midnight because he was crying, and then I got up with him at 4:30am. Both times he had to pee, the IV fluids were keeping him quite well hydrated apparently! I forgot to put on shoes when I took him out, it was below freezing last night and my feet were numb by the time we came back in. Fortunately we won’t have to do that again tonight, now that he’s off the IV he won’t have to sleep in the crate and can just go out the dog door as usual!
I’ve always wondered why there aren’t more injuries on those bouncy castle things! Luckily injury wasn’t worse… and glad Albert is on the mend.. bet you’re looking forward to a full nights sleep! 🙂
