NoJoMo #9

First of all, let me say this is awesome.  I didn’t get to vote on it, as we live in unincorporated Cobb County and thus didn’t have elections yesterday (only cities and municipalities within the county did), but I’m so freaking glad it passed.  Blue laws are silly and outdated.  If I want to have a beer on a Sunday, and I don’t happen to have any at home, why shouldn’t I be able to go to the grocery store and buy one?  Though honestly, the law has inconvenienced me more as it relates to cooking – god forbid I’m cooking something with a white wine sauce and forget to buy wine on Saturday, we’re just screwed on Sunday (unless I send DH to a restaurant with a thermos – because you can get drinks at bars or restaurants on Sunday under the current law, just not at grocery or liquor stores).  

So hurrah, we’re slightly more civilized down here 🙂

Today was more of the same.  I don’t know why I’m in such a mood; I blame PMS and the time change and the fact that these last few weeks before Thanksgiving are chock full of activities and so on.  Things will slow down a bit in about ten days, and then I’ll be bitching that I’m bored.  Oh wait, no I won’t – I’ll finally have time to take my kids hiking and maybe catch up on some reading!

Sigh. 

Anyhow, we had a field trip today with one of our homeschool co-ops; we took the kids to see a children’s opera.  It was cute, but not amazing.  I’m glad they had the experience, and it was relatively inexpensive, but none of us were wowed.  After that, we met DH for lunch since the performing arts center is right across the street from his office; that was nice.  Then we headed home to play outside for a bit before doing school, since the weather forecast called for rain at 4pm (which, btw, hasn’t showed up yet – go figure). 

Now I’m wasting time online when I should be folding laundry and making dinner.  Guess I should get on that so we have food tonight and clothes to wear tomorrow…
