PIRATES OF SNOQUALMIE PASS
Yellowstone Road is a very special place. It’s a place where you can run through the wooded trail to get a cup of sugar form your neighbor. It’s a place where neighbors help neighbors. For instance, when our cabin caught on fire during the night, our neighbors were very willing to help put out the fire along with the firefighters of Snoqualmie pass. That’s what I call COMMUNITY. It was the chimney chase that caught on fire. It is now fixed. So I shouldn’t have to worry.
Last night I went to the outdoor community party, the theme was pirates. I didn’t have any pirate outfits but I was thankful that the host and hostess had bought a bunch of pirate stuff. hats, bandanas, fake mustaches etc. The host made these fabulous ribs that were to die for-and oh my god the crab legs were scrumptious! Many other people brought side dishes and desserts– The alcohol was flowing, I only had 2 glasses of wine. My husband brought his own flask to share with the guy neighbors.
After the meal, I was cohered into doing the zip line that the host had put up between the trees in his backyard. I have always been afraid to do the zip line. But last night I decided to JUST DO IT! So I did and it was a blast.
The hostess and I started the music and got other people up on the makeshift dance stage. Little babies, kids and adults old and young alike where a having a grand time. I danced and danced and danced the night away with the little kids. Soon the adults came up onto the stage. By this time I decided to be the disc jockey. The Iphone was hooked up to the music. I played all my favorite songs: LOVE SHACK, ROCK LOBSTER, LADIES NIGHT, CELEBRATION, WE ARE FAMILY! I even played a song about a mustache.
Later on in the night, we gathered around the outdoor rock fire pit. It was so nice to see all my neighbors sitting together we chatted well into the night.
It was a wonderful night indeed!
