Our Tipi
Our tipi!
I slept like a baby in it. It took my husband only 30 minutes to put up-with the help from his 11 year old daughter–I was the project manager.
14 fir poles, husband hand hewed them with his draw knife.
poles are 24ft long
sleeps 10-12 people
white duck canvas came from Montana
Still waiting on our waterproofer to come in the mail
Need to start the beadwork for the interior liner
need to buy a little fire pit for inside the tipi
need to find of buffolo hide–hummm this one might be a hard and costly find.
Currently:
The tipi is nestled on a bluff looking down at the beautiful Humptulips River.
We have installed a tipi pole rack on our truck so we can transport. I can’t wait to take the tipi to Pen Rose State Park–can you imagine all the lookie lou campers. We also plan on taking it on our annual Cowlitz Family Canoe journey this year.
That may just be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen!
