Solmar is

Just off the beaten path where the land ends. It’s the oldest (30+ years) hotel in Cabo. The décor is outdated though not tacky. It has that old school vintage beach-y 70’s look mixed with a Mexican-fisherman’s flare. Unlike the mega corridor hotels in the city with the hustle and bustle of tourist, venders and time share Nazis. Solmar stands alone behind a mountain it’s a hidden treasure trove; a bewitching beauty that will put the most stressed out person in that

“Cabo frame of mind”.

Pristine private beaches sans vendors, thundering- crashing waves 24/7, a crystal Sea where the creatures play, gigantic granite rock formations against the clear blue endless sky.

I’m SO into this place already; I can almost feel the glistening white sand in between my toes.

My new mantra

Opening eyes now—back to reality. Still have 29 days until my get-a-way.

Husband is still pouting

I lay in the tanning bed today fantasizing about how fantastic this trip will be for me. I visualized waking up just before sunrise and walking the beach barefooted, wind blowing in my hair drinking my first cup of Joe and inhaling the salty air. I will say hello and good morning to every person that crosses my path. I will pay closer attention to the four-legged and winged friends.

Opening eyes now—back to reality. Still have 29 days until my get-a-way.

Aside notes:

I want to truly madly deeply take this vacation as a time to reflect, re-focus and re organize things in my life. I ‘m really sitting on the fence tittering back and forth not wanting to jump off. It’s the fear of the unknown. I’m married now, so It’s just not all about me myself and I but US. There are changes coming up big changes like me quitting my job, and moving away to the top of the mountain. –things to think about-

I don’t want this trip to be one big party –I would prefer to make time for a party of one—ME. Do things by myself without my sisters or the housewives of Lake Washington in tow.

I got an unexpected check in the mail today form the US Treasurer for $898. It is a legit check with watermarks and all. It’s from the office of the special trustee for American Indians. So, I’m not really sure why I got this money, and yes I will take it to the bank. Not to sure what I will do with the money though–
