WINTER WONERLAND

LET IT SNOW. LET IT SNOW. LET IT SNOW.

Lots of snow at our cabin it’s just dumping the snow.

OMG There is a big “MONSTER” on the loose near our cabin. A *V* *V* frantic neighbor lady who lives down river from us called BB and is scared chitless. She wants him to get his gun and come quickly and shot this monster-of-a bear. Apparently, the bear got into her cabin opened up the freezer in the basement and ate all the meat.

The bear is roaming on forest service land, so BB doesn’t really want to shot the bear. He seems to think it would be against the law with the game department. It’s best to get them involved.

I always feel so sorry for these critters, We are invading their homes–reminds me of my ancestors when the white man came and moved us out of our lands. My uncle was moved out–during the depression. My Grandfather gave my uncle a choice he could either go to a special Indian boarding school here in Washington or go to the Catholic seminary and become a priest. I really don’t blame him for going the priestly way. I have read how these state run Indian schools were just Horrid. They forced them to give up their native american culture–weren’t even allowed to speak their own language–Sahaptan. I look at the pictures of these men who went to these schools they are all dressed up in American attire–God, this is so wrong. Times were hard though, our people were dying and my uncle didn’t have many choices, he needed an education, he needed to eat.

Interesting story about your uncle! Smart bear to smell out frozen meat in a freezer! I wonder if they actually eat it frozen. Or if frozen meat even emits a smell. Hmmm…

Brrrrrrrrrrr. I too hate the thought of animals being shot. Except snakes, them it’s okay. Do they shoot snakes?

It’s purely beautiful!

yeah, interesting that the bear knew exactly where to go find the freezer in the house. The pictures are great and that is interesting about your uncle.

You have such a playground of snow there no wonder you love it so much. I love it like that when it’s not very cold out because the snow seems to insulate everything. Thanks for sharing.

Whoooooo Hoooooooo, LOOK at that awsome SNOW! Gotta LOVE it………Smiles

That’s really the kind of snow I like to see, on purpose… and only on vacation. Looks great! Somehow I’m having trouble believing a bear would break into a freezer and get at frozen meat – sounds more like an intruder to me.
