MEMENTO VIVERE

April is the cruelest month, breeding

lilacs out of the dead land, mixing memory and desire,

stirring dull roots with spring rain

T. S. Elliot.

The robins are always the first birds to wake me out of my slumber with their chirping and cheeping and right along side them come the steller blue jays with their squawking. Waking up in this manner is akin to waking up with an orchestra which starts out with a slow tempo then ends with a big bang. That’s how I wake up every morning, which is good for the week days, when I have to get up at the crack of dawn and go to work, but on the weekends—not a good thing. I miss sleeping in something I haven’t done in a long time.

It was a perfect “rainy day” to hit the library, I haven’t been in a couple of years. I have been gone so long that there is now express self-check out. This stuff is all new to me but I managed to do it with just a little help. I felt like a grocery checker scanning my books through the red beam of light.

My new reading material

The Red Hat Society’s Laugh Lines -Stories of Inspiration and Hattitude

The Red Hat Society Fun and Friendsip after Fifty

I’m very curious about this Society of ladies wearing red hats and purple clothing. I ran into a group of these ladies last year while riding the Sno Train to Leavenworth during the Christmas lighting Ceremony. They were having so much fun and I was very envious of them. –I’m only 40 so this will give me something to look forward to. In my younger years I was a girl scout and a rainbow girl but now that I’m getting older I’m missing the comradery with other women. I have no girlfriends to hang out with and I’m starting to become very lonely. Yes, I do have lots of sisters but they have full lives of their own.

DVD’s from the library-I watched them back to back all were very good-I highly reccomend Rabbit proof fence It’s based on a true story.

My mom does stuff with the Red Hat ladies. They have a lot of fun. I understand what you are saying about desiring friendships. I feel the same way. Hugs,

You can be a Red Hat Lady even now. They let youngsters join & wear pink hats. If that sounds good to you, I’d go for it!

I couldn’t hear what they were saying. darn

I LOVE lilacs! RYN – thanks! I think many can relate. Red Hats – I used to belong to them, had a lot of fun but then one day it hit me, while listening to another group of them at lunch, they are all about themselves, while I think that is fine, for me, I needed more, I need to spend time with women working for a mission, not adding to their collection of red hat items.
