LETS GET THE PARTY STARTED

Oh dear God, here it goes again, I have been nominated to host Thanksgiving at our home again for the third year in a row-thanks go to my five lovely sisters who selected me to be the hostess with the mostess. I wasn’t even at the family function when all of this was going down. “Her house is perfect-just big enough-3100 sq ft to hide out and get lost in”, “great steaming hot tub”, “an awesome, huge Sony TV for the football game and the huge kitchen”, “the kids can all stay up stairs and play, while the adults can hang low downstairs”. “a great place for a party”. Oh yes, I can hear them now sighing in relief that their homes won’t get ransacked this year– Cheers to me (: I’m really trying hard to force a smile here.

I guess it’s time to stop procrastinating and get down to business now.

Wow,,,,that is alot of money, guests, cleaning and shopping……I think you are the Coolest to have all those people at your house…..You are so positive! That will radiate through all of them on this special Holiday. Alot of work, I know….. Your note was a warm welcome to the end of my day! Sending sprinkles your way.

Aw man, and I thought cooking for 13-15 at my house was too much! Save that beer for that day, you may need it!

Note to self: Best time to nominate one’s sister, When she is not there! What am I thinking, I don’t have a sister. Big note to self: Get myself a sistah!

I’m in the same boat but I’m taking my mom’s advice- which is not to super clean your house since it will only get all dirty anyway. Last year my plant stand was knocked over right as the first couple people went through the buffet line. Dirt and plants everywhere in my kitchen! Last time, I found turkey & ham tossed behind the couches downstairs. This yr kids stay w/adults during dinner.

oh man. i am so glad i am not doing all of this at my house. but think of the wonderful memories you’re making when the day arrives 🙂

goodness gracious…I could make like 6 tablecloths for 80 bucks with matching napkins…rent the tables, they’re cheaper… we both work thanksgiving so we’re not doing anything very special that day. maybe the kids will come over on the weekend.

6 sisters? HFMOG!

Re: You were already on my Favorites list, silly. 😉

My heart goes out to you. Been there…done that. We used to live in a 2-story 2700 sq. ft home. It was our place to host the most every year (not our election). Now we are living in a 1,000 sq. ft APT. Think the family cares? 19 relatives showed up! And I had to work. I hid in my room & slept b/c I had to work. Lucky me 🙂
