DRIP CASTLES

This is a copy of a painting by one of my favorite artist– STEVE HANKS. I’m a proud owner of several pieces of his work albeit, not rich enough to buy original water colors. I do like to buy the custom framed lithographs. Here is a little info about drip castles Steve Hanks’ sensitive insights into the magic moments of youth is unmatched. In this enchanting vignette he revisits the warm days of summer, of ageless innocence in action, of the wonder of sand and sea and of a fresh alternative to computer games in darkened dens. Soon this castle’s delicate design will be gloriously decorated with precious pebbles, shiny shells and seaweed.–

Everytime I go to the beach I just have to get dirty and make me a magnificent sand castle. It is the child in me–creativity at its best: Molding, digging out the moat, shells and sea-smoothed broken glass adorning the fortress walls, sand dollar doors, and oyster shell windows. A moat dug deep with live baby crabs, big dragons made from seaweed and driftwood. I was told if I dug deep enough I just might make it to China or if I built high enough I just might see the tip of Antartica. I’m almost 40 years old but age is just a number I want to be making castles when I’m 102.

I hope to some day have my own children so I can pass on my tradition but in the meantime I will continue to play and get my fingers all dirty and gritty.

Pleasure is spread through the earth

Girl…….This is ***fancy***. How in the world did I lose you off of my favs list? I knew that someone was missing, but it took me a while to peg it…. This is strange….it has happened to me before…I’m so sorry! Well, I’m not even sure if you still read me, but if you don’t want to, just let me know so I won’t bug ya. I purged fancy out of my life….now I’m shabby chic! smirk

I still delight in digging my toes into the wet stand. Some of my happiest moments were spent building castles and moats with my girls. Innocent times of infinite joy.

Fire zones – I like it!ryn: sure, by email or?

I still play, too. I firmly believe that “grown up” doesn’t mean “can’t play.”
