omgaaawwwwwwd *edit* AND OMFG

ok. My husband is a dumbass.

A well meaning dumbass (I think). But a dumbass nevertheless.

Sooo I knew I was up on the overtime list (yes, mandatory ha HA!).

First words out of my mouth (and over the radio) to the lieutenant “Are ya sure?” (be sure, he knew I was kidding. He came over first telling me “you’ve won the prize…you’re number 1.”)

So they stick me out on mobile right? You know, the one out of a few trucks that go back and forth, not even in a full semi-circle around the complex. Which was fine by me. lol (and no I didn’t get my control room last night, I got the open pop. unit they usually stick me in on the officer’s days off)

Control room would’ve been nice too. Except they keep yelling at you for doors all day.

Never mind. Mobile was the best “leave me the hell alone I’m tired” post.

The sun kept me from falling asleep. It burned my retinas.

So I get 5 hours into shift. Already gone through two fence walks (one lucky officer on each side gets to walk a mile to a mile and a half in between two fences, smacking them to make sure the alarm system works….twice a shift.), a taut wire check (same principle, one of said two fences) and parking and watching these guys for an hour or so on the yard (yeah, cause if something goes down, I’m REAAAAALLLLY gonna be ablet to do something…and I doubt – though I could very well be wrong – we have one dumb enough to try to climb the fence with an armed officer there).

There was really nothing left for me to do the rest of shift but drive my little quarter circle and wait for 2 pm.

I had explained my husband this fact and that if they kept me, and I had to stay longer than 2 hours, he might as well call in.

Reason for this. He works 8-4. He’s day shift…(shifts are 6-2, 2-10, 10-6).

When enough fuckers call in, they hold us over on mandatory. When the 8 am crew comes in they take who they can spare and relieve the 3rd shift overtime folks.

Now. I guess they think it’s cute to have Dave relieve me.

Problem is, we had no one to watch the kids today. So it’s natural for me to assume he’ll call in right?

Ha. 11 rolls around and another mobile calls me. I just kneeeeew. And yes.

He’s in the van with her. He’s relieving me.

At 11 am. I have 3 hours left on shift. All the “work” (hahaha) I would have to do for the day is done.

He jumps out of the van like he’s my knight in shining armor.

I told him he should have just left me. LOL But to be fair, he thought I would be inside compound, most likely in a max unit. If he’d found someone to watch the kids and I had been inside he’d have just left me to finish the shift and gone to his workshop (he are radio repair).

Speaking of the kids. Guess where they were?

In MY van. In the parking lot. omgggg

Again to be fair, he got there during lockdown (count time) so there weren’t TOO many out. But that was just dumb. I’m not mad he just should have thought it out better.

THEN omg lol the kids haven’t eaten. At ALL today. And he was talking about flexing his time to make up for the 3 hours he missed this morning. and I’m all WHOOOOOOOOOOAAAA – dipshit I have to sleep til I have to get ready for work tonight.

because. *gasp*

I WORK tonight.
TONIGHT.

He’d apparently forgotten in this blur of a white knight…er, the sun reflecting off his armor blinded him.

Something.

So. Yeah. Are tired.

And it’s now noon and where am I? Writing on OD

So there all you pessimistic non-believers.

I’m writing. Ha. lol

Edit:

OMMFG

My kids ate lunch. I wrote this.

realized they’d gotten REAAALLY quiet (scary eh?)

They freakin took themselves upstairs for a nap.

OMG

Someone has stolen my children 😮
