A Day Off

I decided today to call off of work and spend the day with Sharon and Sage. Never mind that I had yesterday as a scheduled day off, sometimes hooky just needs to be played.

So we slept in a bit, not much though. Sage was up nice and early and wanted to be played with and held and loved. I do love her but sometimes that kid drives me nuts. I’m looking forward to the time when she can play by herself. Sharon and I stayed in bed with each other and cuddled for awhile before getting up. I really wish we could do that more often. It’s so relaxing and I feel very close to her when we’re doing it.

Sharon and Sage left a little before noon to have lunch with Sharon’s mom at her work. I was left by myself to have a little bit alone time. So I sat my fat ass in front of the computer and did some web surfing and wrote my last entry.

When Sharon got home from lunch, we went out and spent some quality time cleaning her car. It needed it, let me tell you. We drove around and came home and sat down together in front of the tv.

I made chicken fried rice for dinner (from scratch) but it didn’t work out too well. I’ll have to try again though. I think that with a little practice I can make it restaurant quality.

Since then, Sharon and I haven’t really done much of anything. I washed dishes and she spent some time online. We ran some peas through our chopper and added water and Sage had some homemade baby food tonight. She really seemed to like the peas.

It hasn’t been a productive day at all. I’ll admit to it. But it’s been a good day. I don’t have enough time to spend with my family. Not nearly as much as I would like so a day like today, filled with time together if not productivity is really nice.

I think we’re going to give Sage a bath now. It calms her down and gets her ready for bed so I’m going to go.

Enjoy your family. That’s the most productive part. 🙂

nice. Take care.

It doesn’t have to be “productive” all the time. Every once in a while, you need to have some time to just recharge your batteries. 🙂

Days like this are the BEST. Enjoy them!

It is productive as hell to be with your family 😉
