Peace and Happiness
That is what I feel today from the tips of my hair to the tips of my toes. It is a gorgeous day in Indiana 78 and sunny, just little puffy clouds drifting across the sky. We have every window in the house open and there is a wonderful breeze blowing the pages of the magazines sitting on my coffee table. I can hear the birds in my backyard eating from the bird feeders and splashing around in our bird bath. Our backyard is just a riot of flowers and plants and I can smell the breeze bringing in the scent of the petunias on the deck and the fresh clean smell of the Korean lilacs that are in full bloom.
We have been doing fun, different things this week together Wednesday night, we went to see our local minor league baseball play and while it was a hot night, a baseball field felt like the perfect place to be. It was Habitat for Humanity night at the Cove with half of the ticket sales going to the charity. We ran into a lot of people we know including my aunt and uncle and the parents of a little boy in the Little Ones kindergarten class this past year. Last night, we went to see a minor league basketball team in our old high school gym the Little One was dancing in the half time show and Brians mom, has season tickets to all of the Elkhart Express games. It was hotter than Hades in that gym, it was meant for winter high school basketball games, not games in the middle of June but even though it was so hot, I was able to keep cool and enjoy the game and the watch the Little One jump out of a box!
Tonight, we are going out for Andys birthday at Logans Roadhouse early and after they head home, then I have big plans for Brian and I. We are finally going to break into our wine stash from San Francisco and open the pinot noir rose, get a crackling fire going in the fire pit outside and try and for annual attempt for outdoor sex. I adore having sex outside but the weather and temps are rarely just so to make it comfortable and fun. Today the high is supposed to be 81, the low tonight 61 but that wont hit until the wee hours of the morning. Spread some blankets under the fire pit on the ground, get the soft throw pillows from our bed, lay on our backs and gaze at the stars. And then whatever happens, happens. *grin*
I have my strawberry candles all lit around the house to get the mood for picking strawberries from our backyard garden and enjoying our wine later tonight. I havent felt this happy and content in a little while. Life is good, life is comfortable, life is easy. For today. I could think about all of the other things going on in our lives right now that arent so great like Brians job being on hold, the situation with Lynne, missing my brother and a host of other things but not today. Today is just for us to enjoy and remember before the rest of the summer passes by us in a flash. The great days always do, dont they?
Sounds amazing 🙂 I love burning candles in my house too. Hugs,
