Monday mutterings

Today, I can let my cruel and wicked side have full flow.  I’m running English exams with one of the AltEd groups and I insist on them staying silent and handing in their phones for the full time.  You can’t possibly imagine how tortuous it is for them to be without their phones and to have to stay silent AND to have to work at the same time.  It’s wonderful; makes me feel there is some justice in the world.

Yep, I admit it.  I can be nasty.

Last week I booked the heavy squad to come and collect my old lawnmower.  It smells of burning whenever I start it and doesn’t have enough power to turn the blades, so it’s effectively dead.  Anyway, it was supposed to be collected on Friday, but I totally forgot to put it out – so now I’m stuck with it in my garden still.  I think I might call the council and tell them I put it out, but my neighbour didn’t realise it was broken and thought I’d just left if out by mistake, so she took it in for me and returned it happily to me the next day.  Then the council employee and I can have a good laugh about how there’s never a good neighbour around when you need one and how they crawl out of the woodwork when you don’t!

What do you think?  Am I waffling nonsense again?  I could just own up, but where’s the fun in that?

I can now add Chelmsford to my favourite places, because I have discovered the Lush shop there.  I knew there was a branch in the town, so one day when I turned up for a meeting far too early (duh!), I wandered down the High Street until I found it.  The assistant and I spent ages talking about the episode of The Apprentice that was filmed in a Lush lab/factory, which was fun in itself but also resulted in her giving me two free sample products.  So now I know where the shop is , I got some freebies  and not so good, I spent rather too much money in there .  But I smell nice.

Monday beckons.  Have to go.  Have a good week.

Ah well – at least you smell nice even if you are a wicked teacher!
