Fame!

Wow!  My home town made the national news… for something other than crime!

On 23rd August a number of people saw UFO’s in the skies above our town.  As always, witness reports varied considerably, but this is the published report:

Date: 23/08/08

Time: 9:00pm

Number of witnesses: 8

Number of objects: 9 approx.

Shape of objects: orange light

Weather Conditions: average. dry. dark

Description: Minimum 9 orange lights in a general straight line, going across the sky from West to East. From (town), they were to the North. Speed approx that of a passenger airplane. As they reached a certain point by a cloud, they suddenly changed direction to go straight upwards and increased speed dramatically until disappeared. Some of the witnesses thought the front light was larger than the following lights.

After the first report, there were more sightings reported and the event made all the local newspapers plus the regional TV news.  How cool is this?

But I know someone who saw them close up.  Actually on earth.

On 23rd August, my friend and her husband held a celebration barbecue for their daughter to celebrate her good GCSE results.  As part of the celebrations, they released ten Chinese wish lanterns.

These were our UFO’s.  But even with absolute proof that the sightings were the lanterns, witnesses refuse to believe it!
