Perpetual elegance

I walked through the galleria and settled at a small table at the corner bakery overlooking an ice rink. Dozens of children, friends, junior high couples, siblings and chaperoning parents shuffled along on the ice. Round and round they moved unsteadily by. Many would fall, laugh and slowly stand again on their illbalanced skates. In the midst of all the light, fluffy, happy, clumsyness glided one small girl. Asian and dressed in a pink leotard and a small ruffled skirt, she defined grace. I observed her twirl and lift her leg in an arabesque. Watching her reminded me of all life, and how each of us are given the opportunity to exude such grace, passion and beauty. Though there are few, I am determined to be one of them.
