Medium

Hello,

I wanted to ask you all a question. What are your feelings/thoughts, if any, on Mediums? By Medium I mean someone who claims to be able to communicate with the dead. I don’t mean a physic or a fortune teller, someone who predicts the future.

Specifically, do you believe in them? Have you ever had an experience with one or known someone who has?

I’ll explain why I’m asking and give my own thoughts in my next entry. Thanks so much for your input!

I believe in mediums. A friend of mine spoke to a spirit through on of those electricity meters. She also uses dowsing rods and other things. It’s very interesting and when something happens and you see it, you have to believe it! I’m very interested in things like this

No, I don’t believe in mediums. I believe that people want so badly to communicate with their loved ones, to be with them again, that they are very impressionable and vulnerable. Because of this, they are sometimes taken advantage of.

I don’t believe in Mediums; I believe that they are good at reading body language; I believe that they are good at throwing out fairly generic information and then drillig down by asking questions.

While I would LIKE to believe in the ability to communicate with the dead, I don’t. I agree with what Wildrose said.

There are two women in my church who are Mediums and I do believe they have the empathic skills and sensitivity to sense connections between those of us still on earth and those who have passed and pick up on messages. When I was six years old and my beloved great grandmother passed she came to me months later to let me know that she would always be proud of me and always be looking overme. For years after Stephen died he would come to me in my dreams whenever my life was completely off-track and just stand on the perimeter of whatever was going on with his arms crossed staring at me. I haven’t seen him in a dream like that in a very long time. However, there are certain fairly obscure songs that any time I hear them on the radio I know he is nearby. Hope that helps.

Oh, and there were instances in the Bible when people had ‘visitations’ from those who had passed.

i do believe in ghosts or spirits. i don’t know if i believe in mediums. i’ve never talked to a medium. i’ve been around ghosts. mine never talked to me though.

Yes I believe in Mediums; especially at this time of year when the veil between the seen & unseen is the thinnest. However, I do believe that there are those that have special abilities to connect to the unseen world far better then most through out the year. What, may I ask, made you think to ask about mediums?

Well, “Long Island Medium” follows Sister Wives on t.v. So, I’ve watched it a couple of times, the Lady is the medium. Teresa ??? (CAputto, or Italian name like that) and she is the one whom spirits talk to and such. Well, after watching 2 shows, I started feeling convicted by the Lord(even before) that this is a “no-no” for me. So, I stopped watching her. I don’t believe in this, either. I try hard to live Bible based-ways, and don’t always make it, but, I believe messing around with any of this stuff, could bring us to a demonic realm, or something of that nature. I know it sounds crazy, but, the Bible tells us not to fool around with fortune tellers, etc, etc, so for ME< I don't believe in them, and just steer clear of that. It all confuses my analytical mind, too, LOL. ***RYN: My last paragraph was about Kody & the 4 wives “faith,” versus the regular Mormon sect. They are Mormon Fundamentalists, NOT just “Mormons.” Regular Mormons, no longer believe in polygomy. (sp) He said it on the show too, that his parents broke away from the regular Mormons in their Wyoming town, and joined a Fundamentalist Mormon church. In fact, his father took 2 wives, & they still 2gether. :*))
