The Answers

Okay here are the answers to the 70’s lyrics quiz posted in the previous entry:

1.  "You don’t have to be a star baby, to be in my show"

I thought this was an easy one since the lyrics are actually the title of the song. Sung by Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr.

2.  "I think I can make it now, the pain is gone"

The song is "I can see clearly now" by Johnny Nash.

3.  "Badder than old Kind Kong, meaner than a junkyard dog"

The song is "Bad, bad Leroy Brown" by Jim Croce.  Everyone who played got this one right!

4.  "I’ve thought about you for a long , long time"

The song is "Hello it’s me" by Todd Rungren

5. "Loving you whether, whether, times were good or bad, happy or sad"

The song is "Let’s Stay Together" by Al Green.

6. "When evening comes around and it’s time to go to town, where do you go?"

The song is "Your Mama don’t dance" sung by Loggins and Messina.

7. "You know we’ve got to find a way, to bring some lovin’ here today"

The song is "What’s going on" by Marvin Gaye.

8. "Last thing I remember, I was running for the door, I had to find the passage back to the place I was before"

The song is "Hotel California" sung by the Eagles.

9. "I like the way you make me feel about you baby, want the whole wide world to see"

The song is "Best of my love" sung by the Emotions

10. "The radio’s playing some forgotten song, Brenda Lee’s a comin’ on strong"

The song is "Radar Love" and the artist is Golden Earring.

11. "But February made me shiver, with every paper I’d deliver"

The song is "American Pie" by Don McClean

12. "And dream of a girl I used to know, I closed my eyes and she slipped away"

The song is "More than a feeling" sung by Boston.

13. "Cold late night, so long ago, when I was not so strong you know"

The song is "Magic Man" sung by Heart.

14. "Why in the world would anybody put chains on me?"

The song is "Easy" by The Commodores

15. "Mississippi moon won’t ya keep on shining on me?"

The song is "Black Water" by The Doobie Brothers.

BONUS

"Well it’s on and on and on and on and on and on, the beat don’t stop till the break of dawn"

I can’t believe no one got the bonus song!  For most people this was our first introduction to Rap and Hip Hop.  I remember hearing this song and thinking "what in the world?".  The song itself cracks me up.  It’s called "Rapper’s Delight by Sugarhill Gang.

Thanks for playing!

I didn’t play but I sure did enjoy the answers. I haven’t heard or thought about some of those songs in years. Huggles!! BTW How are you feeling today?

I may have been born in the late ’70s, but that doesn’t mean I listened to them. Now had it been ’80s songs that you were quizzing us on, I would’ve tried the quiz. LOL
