Hello everyone,
Happy Tuesday! At least it’s not Monday. Things are going along about the same. Still no job for Aimee but she has already had 2 interviews this week (she’s at one now) and has another tomorrow. The one tomorrow is almost a sure thing but not sure if it’s worth it. It’s making half of what she made and it’s out in Fredericksburg, about an hour’s drive.
Truth be told, I really want to stay in Alexandria. Especially now that we have Makayla’s daycare set up. It IS very expensive here, I realize that. But if she got another job making close to what she was making, we would be okay. This is my hometown. My friends are here. My family is buried here, as I will be one day. I have lived here in this town for most of my life. The only times I lived somewhere else was 2 years in Arlington, VA, which is the next town over, and 3 months down in the country where my sister and nieces live. I was young when I lived in Arlington, and my parents were still alive and here in Alexandria so I could always come home. But the months I was in the country, I missed being here so bad. And it was such a sad feeling for me to not have a place to call home here. I will adjust no matter where we go, but I really hope to stay here.
We had a houseful this weekend. Been a while since we’ve had a lot of company and I’ve missed it. Had 5 adults and 3 kids here. It was chaotic but I enjoyed it. Next weekend we are having a Labor Day cookout with everyone bringing something. Just simple stuff, burgers and hot dogs, potato salad (YUM!) and chips and sodas. It should be a lot of fun.
So we have eased into September which is my favorite month. The summer certainly seemed to fly! I can’t believe the pool closes this weekend although right now it’s really too cold to swim. It’s only 74 degrees here right now and it’s such a beautiful day.
Got our food stamps today so I imagine grocery shopping is in the near future. Don’t want to get too much stuff since we will be moving. We got rid of a lot of junk last weekend. Aimee and her boyfriend really worked their butts off cleaning and getting rid of stuff. Have I mentioned that Aimee’s new boyfriend is my best friend Bonnie’s son?? It’s the weirdest thing ever. I am getting more used to it now but at first it was really hard to swallow. To be honest, I never cared much for him. But I’m coming around and trying to focus on his good qualities and not his past. It seemed almost incestuous at first. They’ve known each other since birth and have spent a lot of time hating each other LOL. Oh well, we’ll see where it goes.
Please keep my dear friend Robinlea (*rose of texas) and her mom in your prayers. Her mom fell last night and dislocated her shoulder. Robinlea is such a good friend to everyone here and I know this is really hard for her.
Well that’s all I got for now. Hope the rest of the week is good for all of you. ((((((HUGS)))))))
Glad to see things looking up some!! I am praying for your “new place,” God knows the details!!! :)) Yes, I am praying for Robinlea’s Mama!!! BigHugz.

I don’t blame you at all for staying in the area you are in. That’s why we renewed our lease. I’m starting to make friends out here finally and the kids are established in the school…..so it works well for us. Mind you sometimes this town feels like a members only town….I’m realizing that there are a ton of new folks in the neighborhood….lots of younger moms like myself (I think 29 is still considered a young mom—hmmm) I am loving the temps here….I think it’s like 70 degrees or something…I’ve got the freakin windows open and everything….it’s so totally nice! Sure I’ll add your friend to my prayer list. No problem!

You are going to have a blast at your Labor Day cookout. It sounds like so much fun and I want a hot dog (love them!) so save one for me, ok? I hope you are able to stay in Alexandria. I can tell how much you love it and that it’s your home. I also hope Makayla is doing well. She’s a cutie.
