Thought about driving around and finding a nice place to watch for meteors, but ended up at wally world instead (I had this dumb idea that the psych center parking lot would be good for viewing purposes, since it’s one of the higher places around. But unfortunately the psych center is surrounded by the most lighted buildings in town. Plus, I was hungry.)

So after spending money I don’t have on food, I drove home and was sitting with my car door open, just looking at the sky and…zoooooom. i thought perhaps it was a trick of my eyes. But then….another. This one lasted almost 2 seconds and had a blue tail. No trick! And then another!

So I took some groceries up and brought down my ‘camping’ rocking chair (fold up lawn chair that is a rocking chair) and sat in the yard and stared at the sky. I saw at least 10 in probably less than an hour. And then I was cold and tired and getting bit by … I’m not sure what?? Something bit me right on the middle of my forehead and it’s now about the size of a dime and it almost feels like a lump you get when you hit your head. heh. Sort of wondering if I’m allergic to mosquitoes?

Last year this time was the first time I’d seen a shooting star. And it was with AJ. heh.

Sleep time, hopefully.

i havent sat outside and watched for that in ages. im glad you saw it.

I’m really glad you got to see some. Sounds like you saw more in that span than I saw over two nights.

I heard they were cool, if you could see them. Some folks couldn’t. Hope the bite clears up quickly and doesn’t itch.

Sounds like they decided to find you. Must’ve known you needed to see them.

ryn: my secret is this: i know why he broke up with me. when that part of my journey is over and he decides he wants me back (and i know he will…) i will tell him he’s too late. (if we’re not already back together…because damnit. i love him.) shh. don’t tell.

Australian water dragon. He’s nuts 🙂 Kes calls him “monsa” (monster) because that’s what we’ve dubbed him. Though his real name is Apollo (digs the sun, that one)

ryn: i don’t know about a way to see ALL the postcards, but usually, weekly, he posts a selection of cards he’s gotten. this week, though, is the release of the video. so that’s what we get. and, for the record, that’s one of my all time favorite sia songs. i LOVE her.
