NoJoMo #2

My God, it has been just about the worst day ever today. I don’t even want to go into everything that went wrong, but I’ll go into some of it.

Some of my awful mood is carried over from yesterday. I had a hellish day at work, and I think I must be PMSing (though if so, I’m early, which is a first), because I was overly emotional. Instant rage, intense irritation, and at one point on the verge of tears. I hate working Sundays, and every single person I came into contact with yesterday annoyed the shit out of me. I could feel myself wanting to punch someone – anyone – literally in the face, then storm out of work and drive to the beach to clear my head. Alas, I was a good employee, and didn’t do any physical violence nor walk out. But oh God, would it have felt good. I got home around 1:00am, and went to bed shortly thereafter, determined to wake up in a better mood today. The highlight of my day yesterday? The tall Pumpkin Spice Latte and chocolate chunk cookie I treated myself to from Starbucks on my lunch break.

So, this morning started out somewhat okay. I woke up in pretty good spirits. After some texts with a friend who I discovered was lying to me, however, my good mood vanished pretty quickly. And as soon as I started getting ready for work, it only got worse. However, when I got to work, I tried to shake it off. Of course, it being a Monday, it didn’t go so well. Before long, I was wishing that I had gone back to bed when Stan asked me to when I kissed him goodbye this morning. Add in some arguing with the same friend from this morning, hellish cardmembers to call, not being able to vent to hardly anyone all day, a text from Stan around 4ish that my mother-in-law is back in the hospital, and the freaking Yankees losing (though at the moment, they’re coming back – fingers crossed!), and you’ve got one very unhappy Lindsay. I’m not usually the kind of person to drink when I’m upset, but the bottle of vodka we have in our pantry right now (along with rum and gin) sounds pretty damn good right now.

As for my MIL… apparently (and I apologize in advance), she was bleeding pretty badly from her rectum today when my sister-in-law came to pick her up for a doctor’s appointment, and so she took MIL to the hospital. She was admitted, and they’re planning on doing a colonoscopy once they get her blood levels back up. Stan doesn’t seem overly concerned – he thinks the blood thinners she takes for blood clots made her hemeroids worse. Hopefully we’ll have news tomorrow.

God. This is one big entry of negativity. But, I do feel a little better having vented some of it out. Gee, Lindz, maybe you should remember how good this feels.

The Yankees lost. Now on top of everything, a cranky husband to deal with. FML. Goodnight.
