A slight return

OK, let’s start with the answers to the questions.

Where do you see your life in 5 years? (::blueberry marcus)
I think we’ll still be in our house (see below), and I’d love to have two kids by then. Now, I know you aren’t supposed to pick and choose and be happy with your lot, etc, but if I could chose, I’d have a boy first followed by a girl. Right now though, I’d be happy with either. I should be debt free in five years time and jointly own the house with Duncan. I’d also like to be working from home, in either a similar role to what I do now or childminding, which is something I’m gonna look into once we’re settled and happy with our house. I don’t really want a lot from my life in the next few years, just no major nasty surprises.

What’s the one thing you regret most? (sapphire)
I try not to regret things, I like to think that all experiences form who I am and that you have to take the bad to appreciate the good. That said, I do regret not spending more time with my grandparents, particularly my gran, before she died. I still miss her a lot as she was such an influence in my life growing up. I regret not having a better relationship with my dad sometimes but he doesn’t seem to be bothered by this so I try not to let it upset me.

Where did you meet Duncan? (analene)
I met Duncan when I moved to Newcastle, just over five years ago. I knew him through a mutual friend (who was, in fact, the only person I knew in Newcastle when I moved there) and became friends with him. We were friends for six months before we started going out but in that six months we’d had a couple of drunken kisses. Because we’d been friends and knew each other quite well, the relationship moved really quickly and we were living together after six weeks. But it certainly wasn’t a bad thing and we were both very much ready for it.

In other news, I got a free day off work on Friday because I didn’t wanna trek down to London for the Christmas party (long story which involves me being overly cautious, our office manager slagging me off behind my back and the whole thing having been for nothing in the end) I got a call from the solicitors though and we are scheduled for completion on Monday 9th January – 5 weeks today!!! Very exciting but lots of packing to do after Christmas now. We have loads to do now to get everything sorted, not least sort North Tyneside council out, who can’t seem to answer a simple question if their life depended on it. I now have lists everywhere to get me through the next five weeks (cos I am that organised and anal) I absolutely can’t wait though.

Until there is a next time…

xx
