Shadow on the sun

‘No squealing, remember (that it’s all in your head)’ Gorillaz – Clint Eastwood

We went to see Harry Potter yesterday. I apologise in advance to all those who really don’t give a damn, but I loved it. I did. It stayed pretty much faithful to the book (which is so damn rare these days) and some of the effects were just fantastic. I retreated into my childlike state for two and a half hours. I adored it. I will buy it on video as soon as it comes out. Need I go on?

We also spent a couple of hours wandering round town yesterday. I forget that Newcastle isn’t on the same scale as Birmingham or London and we decided that three hours in town should be ok. It was too much. By 2:30 we were bored and still had at least an hour to wait before we could go to the cinema. But I did manage to get to Boots and find out the cost of Duncan’s present. He’s quite appalled by how much I’m prepared to spend on him, but frankly, two tickets to the two days of the British F1 race next summer are priceless. I also got my finger size checked and pointed out a couple of rings that I like to Duncan. Did you know it’s only 6 weeks tomorrow until Christmas? I can’t wait.

Today is hopefully my last day in Middlesbrough. I think I’m going to have to hang around for a while and wait until the management meeting is over before I can have my meeting with Sarah and Pete, but I don’t mind. I just hope that Pete doesn’t decide that I should be made to stay. So far it has been him vetoing my hopes to work at home through this and he has increased the stress I have suffered by successfully being the most unsupportive manager there is around here.

You know I was just about to finish the entry and save it, when Sarah came up to me. Because I am still ‘technically’ in this damn selection process, I cannot go on gardening leave today, I must continue to work this week and maybe even next week. Do you ever wonder why you bother?

Until there is a next time…

xx

That is so pathetic….so you have to drag yourself through the morning rush hour and sit twiddling their thumbs all day just so they feel they are treating you fairly. Bugger them! And lucky Duncan! the GP is a fantastic experience…..

Silverstone’s only down the road, so I try to go to F1 qualifying each year. Main race day is a lot of money, but worth it from what I’ve heard – so… one day 🙂

that’s a great idea for a present – all I can think of to get Scott is a year’s subscription to Maxim ;o)

oh, i’m so glad to hear that the movie was good. i’m half way through reading that book. i’m going to take my neice to see it hopefully this weekend. she suggested i hurry and read the book before seeing the movie. good advice from a 10 year old. ;o)
