Reality Check. the hump day edition.

WHERE: on the sofa and not naked!! Watching Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents. An appalling tv show that I love! It makes car crash tv seem positively classy! I’ve just had to dash upstairs after hearing a thud. It wasn’t followed by a cry which was surprising since Lila has recently moved up to a very high bed from her low, low toddler bed! She slept through her fall and only woke when I picked her up again!

WEARING: khaki shorts, white t shirt with a pretty design that I painted on it the other day.

IN THE NEWS: everyone hates everyone, every government is spying on their population, prices are going up, unemployment is still bad. What happened to that happy little story at the end of the news?!

READING: re-reading some of the Sue Grafton books but I need to leave it for a few years! I know what happens. Also reading and working through AQA GCSE maths book with a determination unlike any before! I was doing an hour a night but realised I wouldn’t finish by the earliest possible exam date so I’ve upped it to two hours a night! And it’s bloody hard.

FITNESS UPDATE: I’m on a downward swing on my constant upping and downing of weight. I’m just not lettig it get very high nowadays.

ACTIVITIES TODAY: got up at almost 7, started work at 7:30, did breakfast and dropped my two and the childminded kids at school, jumped on my bike and cycled over the bridge to the school in the next suburb. I started by changing all the year one reading books, then I took a literacy group who had to write things that they had just discussed about meerkats. Then I assisted some groups of kids taking part in maths games. After lunch myself and another volunteer took an art group, finishing off a project that I had been a part of a few weeks ago. The other volunteer was recently offered a TA job in a local secondary school so I asked advice on how to fill in an application. This evening she emailed a copy of her personal statement to me as I thought that was letting me down and she’s highlighted certain key phrases and pieces of info. I will forever be grateful! Hopefully I’ll have a little more luck…

I left the other school, cycled back across the bridge to pick up ma girls, bffn’s kids and a lad I have when his nan can’t. We went to bffn’s house and gossiped, took T to beavers, cooked food, picked her up etc… Evening routine filled with bedtimes including talaia saying “i don’t want to go to bed!” Then two hours of maths.

THINKING ABOUT: I’m trying to unthinkify at the moment so I can sleep once I’m in bed..!

PLANNING: building Talaia’s Ikea bed on Saturday. She’s being very patient with having the boxes stacked up in her room, blocking all her toys!

You’ve been so busy! Are you enjoying being in the school during the day? Has it confirmed your desire for doing that as a job? You must be exhausted. You sound good though! Wish we could meet up for a coffee!!! xo

I honestly admire you! 🙂 Unthinkify, debería intentar eso de vez en cuando! Un beso muy fuerte y gracias por todooo! 🙂 <3

Oh yes, the night time brain unravelling! Best to get that out of the way here and not take any of it to bed with you! 🙂 If I could live in some sort of fashionable slip that I could walk around outside without the neighbors eyes turning to slits, I’d probably never get dressed. (Just thinking about your ‘not naked!’ statement, lol.) Getting dressed is bothersome in the morning!

You’re out of bed (i suspect in bed now), L is in bed-out of bed-in bed and T is waiting for her bed. How does rich feel about his current bed situation?… X

RYN: We have some neat (and not so neat) stuff up on the wall, but it’s the blank paper air plane made right after the last blank paper airplane that sets my teeth on edge! If you’re not going to pretend to fly either of them, at least decorate the first one. 😛

Two hours of maths a night! In this heat?! You’re mad, woman!! 😉

Good luck with the maths! Xx

busy busy, that is great she slept thru her tumble off the bed, poor kid, I hope you take some time for yourself, hugs!!

tee-he, I love your reality checks! It is so nice when someone graciously helps you with paperwork. Honestly I was the one who people helped last semester and I was so grateful! I’m happy your on a downward swing. That is mighty nice for T to wait! math is such a killer…

I am so watching that tv show, I love watching apalling tv shows! I sent you a little parcel today, there is something in it for the girls, just a little something that I think is all dividable if you tell them first its half each, if they are anything like my kids.

RYN: It also helps NOT to pack the winter jacket in there, either, hehehe! BTW, I’ve been meaning to ask you for a little while now; what do you think about Boden? Do you buy any?

RYN: TWO MORE THINGS! a – what are the girls’ sizes (or what do you expect them to be over winter) if our money situation improves and the stars align! and b – thanks 😀 They ship to Canada and I’ve been eying them for awhile now :p I should correct that and say 3 things – they’re having end of season clearance right now, but shipping is £4.00… when their fall line goes live in 2 weeks I hear

there will be a free shipping code floating about if that teases your interest at all. 🙂

RYN: *little sigh* True, the pricing is a little out there. I would LOVE this purple hoodie they’ve been selling, but £16.50 (and you have to think £20.50 after shipping) is twice what I’d pay for a sweater at Gymboree (not that Gymboree doesn’t charge those prices, but I don’t pay them!) I love how bold and vivid their colours look; you don’t find that here.

RYN: That’s kind of funny! They still do bright, bold colours, but I find they’re usually pushing towards the spectrum, while I’m seeing Boden likes deep, saturated hues. I’m still love Gymboree, just not so much “right now.” The Unicorn Garden that just come out has some gorgeous dusty rose/pink right now, but I’ve seen sneak peeks of the next few lines and I don’t like them at all 😛
