We Who Are About to Dye Salute You

This morning I discovered a tiny bit of gray in what’s left of my hair.  I suppose it is inevitable, but I still wasn’t prepared for the onslaught of emotion that flowed through me like spoiled Guinness.  However, it was brief, and it will be gone today when I go for my ritual cropping.  I keep my hair almost shaved, which according to my "hair lady," makes the balding look work in my favor.  Of course, I know the gray will return, as sure as IRS form 1040, but I will not dive into the vanity pool and dye my hair.  I do know several guys who do, but I’m going to go for the "distinguished" look.  The fact I am even writing about this subject is an indictment against television and its influence.  Was society as obsessed with looking youthful in past times?  Probably.  Oh well, it was a thought.

*random noter* I like the bald look. I used to always tell myself I wouldn’t dye my hair. I lied.

Gray is the new black! I like the shaved head look myself.. not FOR myself..

Random noter: Balding is sexy….definitely. My husband has taken his cut shorter and shorter….now a #1, and it works for him, too.

I have to agree with above noter. I like the balding guys with the close-shaved heads. I had a piano professor like that and he was the sexiest man ever.

How old are you??? I started getting those stray grays when I was 36. Consider yourself tagged. *runs away* 🙂

I work with a lady that was white headed since her early 20’s. I like the short look. Those comb overs are awful.

There you are. ::waves:: Nice picture! I feel your pain. I had an eye exam this week and I’m right on the cusp of needing bifocals.

I love poetry, but yours has been the only to speak to me here…so give us MORE, and congrats on the new job. kristi
