Stolen survey

[1]  Hot chocolate or apple cider?  Depends on the time of day.  During the day hot chocolate, but right before bed, apple cider

[2]  Turkey or ham?  Turkey! I don’t like any soup that is made out of ham and soup is a good way to get rid of leftovers.

[3]  Do you get a real or fake Christmas tree?  If I could afford it I would get a real one, but at $60 for a decent sized one (I grew up in Christmas tree land) it is too expensive.  So I go for the fakiest fake one I can find.  This year it is snot green tinsel

[4]  Decorations on the outside of your house?  I have a plastic snow flake that I bought at the dollar store.  Other than that probably not, but we will have to see what we have.

[5]  Snowball fights or sledding?  Sledding, especially if they have the golf course done.  I remember one winter ending up with Sandy and I sitting in a snow bank, numbing bruised tail bones because of sledding accidents.

[6]  Do you hang around the fireplace because its warm?  If I had one, I would hang around it because it is pretty, but I have found that they tend not to be very warm.

[7]  Do you enjoy going shopping downtown?  Is there another place to shop in Pullman?  All there is is a downtown.

[8]  Favorite Christmas song?  Carol of the bells has always been my favorite.

[9]  How do you feel about Christmas movies?  Have yet to see one I cannot live without.

[10]  When is it too early to start listening to Christmas music?  We usually start on the drive that gets us to the family before thanksgiving, or on the way home from thanksgiving dinner.

[11]  Stockings before or after presents?  Stockings before Santa presents.

[12]  Carolers, do you or do you not listen to them?  I watch them, to see adults having so much fun doing something silly and not being self conscious about it is priceless, even if they cannot carry a tune.

[13]  Go to someone else’s house or do they come to yours? My mother has grandbabies now, do you think I can get away without going to someone else’s house?  But for Christmas Day itself, we will probably stay home and start our own traditions with our new son.

[14]  Do you read the Christmas Story? Every year, after dinner and the dishes are done on Christmas eve.

[15]  What do you do after presents and dinner?  Pack up peoples cars for the drive home.

[16]  What is your favorite holiday smell?  Cinnamon

[17]  Ice skating or walking around the mall?  I’m a klutz, if I tried to ice skate I would probably hurt myself and others, so I walk around the mall, or sit and watch others shop.

[18]  Favorite Christmas memory?  How about a tradition rather than a memory.  We always have pizza on Christmas eve so that we could get the dishes done faster (paper plates). That way we could get on to opening presents because much of our family is on the east coast and would call us at like noon their time, which was 8 am and were disappointed if we had not yet opened our presents. So we did them all the night before and Christmas morning was all about Santa!

[19]  Favorite part about winter?  not feeling guilty about buying a $5 cup of coffee to warm up with.

[20]  Ever been kissed under a mistletoe?  Does the middle of march count?  A couple of years ago I bought some and put it in the car, I don’t remember why.  A few months later my husband was picking me up from work and found it.  He promptly held it over my head and gave me a great big kiss!

I didn’t know about the pizza tradition. I found it humorous that neither of the Holiday surveys mentioned tea or coffee but they both said hot coccoa.
