Still in shock

On Saturday night the police found three bodies in an apartment here in town.  That was shock enough.  This is a small college town, to have three people dead is almost unheard of in a year, let alone all at once.  To find out that they were killed violently is even worse.  It appears to be a double murder-suicide.  All of that is enough to throw the local population into shock.  Walking into work on Sunday, many people looked upset.  That should have been a sign.  Get up to the crew room and there is the wife of the store manager sitting there looking tired and like she has been crying.  She had been there since 11 PM the night before.  Shopko had called the police after they were unable to get a hold of one of the staff.  The police found her in the apartment with her boyfriend (another recent hire) and another man.  She had been at Shopko for several years.  I think that it is especially shocking to me because while I did not know her well, she was someone who had helped to train me when I was still trying to figure things out.  The last time I worked before Sunday, she had told me that I had to bring the baby in for everyone to see after he is born.  It is really odd to think that she will never be there again.  She will never be the one to answer a call for a mangers override (usually requested via the intercom so we all know it happens).  I have not worked since Sunday and am a little nervous about working today.  It really hit me after I saw it on the news and saw her name is print when reading the paper.

Time to strap on my nerves and head to work soon.

ryn: my obgyn offers it for $75 or $125 depending on how much you want recorded and how many pictures you want.

I wish I knew what we were having. I’m sure they’ll do another ultra sound…at least, it wouldn’t surprise me! I’m sorry that it hit so close to home. Violence is always incomprehensible.
