Diagnosis?

Four and half years ago when I lived in WV, I had a gallbladder attack and subsequently got it removed within a week.

Since that time I have developed major stomach issues. It has progressively gotten worse as time has gone one. I typically don’t talk about it to anyone as its quite embarrassing. But most foods I eat don’t agree with me anymore. Sometimes its vegetables, spicy foods, greasy foods, there really is no definitive list.

I just dealt with it and suffered through. Last week I turned a corner and got very sick at work. This time was different, I didn’t feel better within hours. The pain and bad feelings lasted for a very long time.

I went to the Dr. Monday and he diagnosed me with IBS. He gave me two medicenes and hopefully they will work. If not there will have to be further testing.

I started researching sites and learned there are some diets out there that have been developed for those with IBS/Celiac Disease. So I am going to see if changing those things in conjuction with Weight Watchers will help.

Has anyone else had experience with this or other stomach issues?

Its nice to have an answer for now, but I am still worried it could be more serious 🙁

One of my freinds has Celiac and dealt with it for 10 years before they diagnosed her. She has to be on a special diet without any type of wheat and she’s fine. I once new this guy who had Chrons desease and they just had to put him on different meds until they found a cocktail that suited him. I don’t know anyone with IBS but doing research as you are is probably a really good thing. Once they have all the results back you might want to ask them to see a nutritionist as well so that they can help you tailor the right eating plan for you… I would think they would have experience with IBS patients and how food affects their health. Best of luck to you girl [hugz]

Most people that I know who’ve had their gall bladder removed (myself included)have experienced stomach problems. Talking with friends and family about this in the past, in most of our cases it’s usually greasy or spicy foods that gives us problems. I hope the meds work for you. It wouldn’t hurt to talk to your WW Leader about it…maybe she will have some suggestions.
