Mine..

A good Valentine’s as they go. I awoke to roses and a funny card from my spouse. When we married, I braced myself for few if ever gifts or cards or things like that. Frank is not overly sentimental. But I was wrong. He makes every effort while still being his very un-mushy self. The roses were beautiful and the card really very funny even if he did try to give it to me without signing it. He bought the boys balloons and I bought them their first tiny box of candy. I still need to buy the older ones a nice box of chocolates but find them mercifully cheaper after the 14th. Perhaps I am a touch Dutch after all…I made an experimental lasagna in the crockpot and we cracked open a nice Malbec for dinner. Q had his very first Valentine’s party at preschool. He came home with a bag of goodies and I realized I’d likely failed in my role as cool mom by only sending Valentine’s cards with him. I forgot the cool little treats or gifts I should have attached to the cards. Wondering how I can make that up. Hmm.

More concern with my Achilles tendon., esp on the left. I may have partially ruptured it. I can no longer walk on my toes esp on the left side. I go see a physical therapy doctor next week. I truly dread surgery but this constant pain and inability to walk well is miserable. I hobbled like a broken toy around the stores. I found a red duvet cover for $25 at Target and perhaps a dresser on clearance at Oak Express than could be used as a buffet server for $288 instead of a more traditional server for $500 on up.

The grayish February weather suits me.

That’s a nice Valentine’s Day. Good luck with your foot/ankle situation. That must hurt.

Happy (late) Valentines Day!

Glad it was a nice Valentine’s day. We had a nice one, with my day the following day, and our anniversary the 16th.
