Wrote some very scary checks to Home Depot and Lumber Liquidators–BUT it is all ordered!

That is such a small sentence compared to everything I accomplished today. Took Cam to the pediatrician. Saw the foot doctor who talked about some expensive, worrying, and painful-sounding "possible" solutions for my achilles tendonitis. We talked and agreed for now I’d continue physical therapy.I will see him again on New Year’s Eve. I REALLY hope I have some good progress in the interim.

Had a lovely sushi roll for lunch and then had an hour’s worth of PT. She tried something new: a dexamethasone pain patch on my heels.  I hope for some relief since I have 2 late days at work. SO tired of feeling like my feet are breaking off at my ankles.

Very difficult to write with someone constantly talking at me.

Who is installing your floors? Did LL provide names?

November 19, 2012

ryn – I do think he enjoyed the museum…. but I think our disjointed conversation ruined the discussion. I think it was worth it to him for the massiveness of this trailer. And funny about the Peoria mention. 🙂 I don’t think I’ve read you before, but I do think I’ve seen your name. You’ve been here forever, right? My older entries are private now but I’ve been here since 2000. Though maybe your name just looks familiar from reading 1Q84. 🙂

Ryn: no…I had trouble with a company who didn’t flinch when quoting me $65 per sq ft for simple oak plank floors…and they aren’t even solis wood!

yeah, we thought he was nuts when he told us before he came to the house that he usually charges 30-35 psf. We were prepared for that, and only talked to him because he had some beautiful ideas on his website. We have a curved side to one of the rooms, and haven’t been happy with the way other installers wanted to do it. His idea was only to put a border around the edge, but still just straightplank floors. We were frankly angry that he wasted our time with that quote. My husband even wrote him an email and said.. HOW many square feet were you quoting? OH, and it would take 4 weeks to get the materials, and then six weeks to finish the job, and we had to move all the furniture out, and that didn’t include tax! It’s only 300 square feet! At least his design wasn’t something i’ll pine after. hehe, pine. not oak either! So back to the drawing board. At least we won’t
