Panic attacks
For my own reference. I am having incipient panic attacks and my mouth has broken out in sores, fortunately on the outside. Neither of these things is serious. They are both due to stress. I am controlling the panic with breathing and the outbreak on my mouth is diminishing since I have used rubbing alcohol on it. {This came from my Auntie Babs, a big influence in my life who would tell us to use rubbing alcohol "or cheap perfume!" to clear up these outbreaks.}
The furniture and the boxes have gone and I am sitting here on the bed, the only thing left. Tomorrow I will strip it down to the mattress and pack the sheets in my larger suitcase. Tomorrow I am going back to NC. I will stay with Jake {and his two cats} until the furniture arrives and then move in to my new apartment.
Now I am waiting for Diane and we are going out to have lunch. This is possibly the last entry until I get to NC.
Fear not for the future, weep not for the past.
Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822) English Poet
Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.
– Oscar Wilde
Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers}
Have a safe trip! This all happened so fast, it’s no wonder you are experiencing panic attacks. But you are almost there!

Safe travels, Patrisha. I’m looking forward to your entries and your impressions from NC, after having lived in the “frozen North” for so long.

I’m guessing you probably packed your essential oils. If you have your lavender, it would help with the panic attacks.

Panic attacks seem a logical thing to do, under the circmstances. 🙂 In truth, I much admire your resilience.

Moving can be one of the most stress inducing things ever. But I know you’re going to be OK. Many hugs and have a very safe trip. Just think — no more blizzards!

You bring a whole new face to the term resolute! Just think that in a few short days, it will all be behind you and you can sit back and relax. Perhaps you’ll even find a spot for a cat in your future. Pets are great stress relievers, you know?
