Wednesday

I still do not feel my normal self but I do feel better than I did yesterday! I was asleep by 10 pm but woke up to go to the bathroom at 3 am. After that, I read and dozed on and off until 6 am when I got a shower. I am now sitting here in my recliner bumming a connection from someone who hasn’t password-protected his or her link to the Internet.

Around 10 am the furniture and the boxes will be moved out and if all goes according to plan, the car will be gone, too. If the bed wasn’t still here, I would have nowhere to sit! The bed and mattress are being picked up by Fred’s son-in-law and taken to the dump on Saturday, Tomorrow Diane, Fred’s daughter, is coming so we can go out to lunch together and I will give her the house keys so her husband can get the bed squared away.

Things I have to do today:

  • Sit on the bed and read while boxes and furniture are carried out to the van
  • Start on the picking up and carrying out of trash.
  • Get caught up on sleep.

Thursday:

  • Go to lunch with Diane and remember to give her the keys. {I called her last night and asked her to help me remember this.}
  • continue picking up and putting out trash
  • Start packing the few clothes I am taking with me

Friday:

  • Strip bed and pack sheets etc to go with me
  • Put old-and-ragged comforter in the trash
  • get neighbors to come over and take the little bit of frozen food I still have left and any of the opened spices and condiments in the door of the refrigerator that they want. Throw away the rest.
  • Finish the packing
  • Make sure I say goodbye to my very nice neighbors
  • Be ready to leave when J. comes to pick me up at 3 PM
  • FLY TO NC!!!!!

We have snow forecast for today and the next two days. I hope this doesn’t delay my flight…

Fear not for the future, weep not for the past.

Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822) English Poet

Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.

– Oscar Wilde

Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers}

How exciting. This has all happened so fast. I’m curious to know if you found any “lost” items while you were packing. As in, “Oh, THAT’S where that thing went! I wondered where it went!”

This is what I call living simply! Sometimes I wish I could just move everything out of my house and only move a very small part of it back in. Safe travels for you!
