Day Two
Diane and Ernie came over this morning and took the dining table, the table where I keep all my teas and the rickety bedside table to the place I insist on still calling Recycle North! I was surprised he didn’t know it. Anyway, that is two big pieces of furniture and one small one gone. Then they took me out to lunch which was very nice. I have leftovers for tonight, too.
I at the point pf getting ready to move where I seem to be moving piles of "stuff" from one place to another. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope I am going to get there.
I slept very badly last night and only got about three hours sleep so once we got back from lunch, I really felt the need for a nap although it had been a long time since I have stopped taking naps regularly. Anyway, I got up feeling a little better physically. Last night, I took half a trazadone and it seemed to be no help on sleeping, I was given the prescription because I told the doctor I couldn’t sleep because my mind wouldn’t shut down. So far, until last night, half a one has worked well. Tonight, I am taking a whole one.
OK, things I still have to do {but not necessarily in any particular order and, except for the massage, not necessarily to be done tomorrow.}
Arrange a ride to the airport on Friday.- Call Fairpoint, and sort out why money is still coming out of the household account for computer access in FRED’S NAME. I have cancelled this account and told them he died in May. I also need to cancel my account (which I pay for by check monthly} as of January 18th.
- Call gas and electric utilities and have these services cancelled as of the 18th.
- Go for the last massage I will ever have from Beth tomorrow.
- Sort out the pots and pans which I don’t want and leave them on the bed on Friday. Ernie is coming back on that day to dispose of the bed and he said he will take the pans to Recycle North then.
- Go down to the post office and have my mail forwarded from the 18th. Hmmm, I have just realized I haven’t checked my mail box up front for two days…
- Get Martha to get the treadmill which is ready to go. All we need is people with muscles to move it.
- Call Cloth Paper Scissors subscription department and change my address for delivery. It is a fairly expensive magazine and I really enjoy it.
Although it seems like a lot–and actually, it is a lot — I like to have a list to cross things off…
Fear not for the future, weep not for the past.
Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822) English Poet
Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.
– Oscar Wilde
Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers}
Wow. Getting very close.

Yes, lists are great for giving a sense of completion. I find them motivating.

You can change your address online and not have to go to the post office. I have my mail held when I take a trip and I do it online.

You have so much to do, it is no wonder you stay awake thinking about them all! But I hope you are having a really GREAT, long sleep tonight to make up for last night’s lack of sleep. Finding a good new massage therapist will have to be a priority once you get settled. I hope you’ll soon be able to find someone you like as much as Beth! hugs, Nicky

I keep procrastinating making a list of things I have to do. I know I had to do it, just don’t want to do anything. Sounds like you are right on task!

I hope you get a refund for the computer access overcharge.

You’re almost there 😉 Once you ARE there, it’ll be its own reward. As for sleep, have you tried valerian root? It’s natural. It helps me sleep very well. (PS, did you see my note about Fred?)

Good luck getting ready to move. It must be a HUGE job.
