No Internet Access
Apparently my internet account was activated yesterday but there is, also apparently something wrong since the DSL light on the modem is flickering rather than showing a steady green light. Anyway, Fairpoint seems to be doing better that Verizon. I just got a phone call to say a tech will be coming to attend to this Monday afternoon and will {hopefully } fix this. I would be biting my gold-painted fingernails if I didn’t have access through this unprotected link…
For my own information, I need to record that I had a flu shot at my local pharmacy a few days ago. There is a box I had to check on my form to give this information to my doctor, a good thing otherwise I would be constantly reminded that I needed to get one. Actually, come to think of it, I need to call them and change my already defunct land line to the cell phone Hmm, I wonder if I can do this on line?
I am trying to save money so I didn’t turn on the heat all day. Actually, I did quite well as long as I was moving around and I got a lot of things done! But this evening, it was just too cold at 63 in here so I set it for 67 and that is a lot better. I also put my heated mattress pad and a couple off blankets on the bed last night and I slept very well.
Diane, {one of Fred’s daughters} brought me two bags or oranges yesterday so I made a glass of freshly squeezed juice yesterday. I forgot this morning so I will make one before I have my evening meal. I love fresh orange juice.
I just heard someone go down into the basement from upstairs which reminded me that I had a load of clothes in the drier so I went down there to find Bryan {upstairs tenant} and Dave, his friend, checking the beer and the cider they are making down there! They offered me some when it was ready but I said I don’t like beer too much but I would try the cider when it was done!
Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers)

Patrolled at 40 degrees tonight and it felt cold…and we Vermonters know that isn’t *cold*. 🙂 I kept thinking I need to find the electric blanket so I can enter a warm bed then turn it off. You seem in better spirits. I’m glad. 🙂 If they make beer and cider they should try kombucha.

The cider definitely sounds better than the beer! :o) !! We have our thermostat on 60 for most of the day and it IS damn cold. Joe says I can turn it up anytime I want to, and sometimes I do….but I try to not, to save on the heat bills! A heated mattress pad sounds so cozy…. a heated sweatsuit would be nice for walkin’ around in, too! hugs, Nicky
