Thoughts **
- One interesting thing I discovered about traveling is that women over 70 {and perhaps men, too, but I can’t tell for sure because I am not a man} no longer have to remove their coats or their shoes before going through the lines to board a plane.
- I am having a lot of trouble sleeping these days. Last night I finally got to sleep around 4 am and woke up at 8:30 this morning. This seems to be a persistent problem.
- But I did get laundry done today.
- I can’t listen to music when I am on the treadmill because the beat of the music doesn’t fit the speed of the treadmill so I have been listening to my Kindle "read" to me. This has not been completely satisfactory because the normal reading speed of the Kindle is too slow for the speed I read and so my eyes are at the bottom of the page while the Kindle voice is half way down the page. A couple of days ago I remembered that the the reading speed can be made faster and so today I tried that which was a lot better. I have to look at the words occasionally because the voice is actually gabbling and sometimes I lost the meaning because of the combination of the speed and the occasional mispronunciation of the robot voice!
- It is 11:30 so I am going to try some sleep.
Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers)

I’m sorry about your disrupted sleep pattern 🙁

I’m glad that older people no longer have to remove their shoes and coats when getting ready to board airplanes! I’ve always thought that most rules need to have exceptions! I hope you can get into a better sleep pattern soon. hugs, Nicky

Sounds like a good rule to me. I had no idea the Kindle could DO things like that – so it works a bit like an audiobook but without a human being reading it?

i am so sorry you are having trouble sleeping. i’ve always thought they were a bit out there with some of the rules for boarding planes. guess i have a few more years to wait to fly again. take care,

I’ve learned something new about the Kindle as well. I did not know it could read to you. Hopefully your erratic sleeping pattern calms itself down and you can get a restful night’s sleep.

I didn’t know the Kindle could read to you. All Kindles? I’ve been having disrupted sleep patterns lately myself. It sucks.

I tried the kindle ‘voiceover’ and it was horrible! It can interpret the words, but it has no comprehension of grammar, and unless you’re really concentrating on it, neither do I, because all the proper ‘cues’ are missing. (huggles)

I hate when my sleep gets interuppted. Hopefully you will sleep better tonight. That kindle voice thing would drive me nuts, because I read fast too. Then to have to go back and re-read something because the robot voice is garbled…argh!

Gabbling. A new word for me but it speaks for itself. 🙂

I hear you about the sleep pattern. Mine’s a mess too. And it is very annoying. That is such a relief about going through the screening at the airport.

Sorry about your sleep patterns. I didn’t realize you could speed up the voice pattern when the Kindle reads to you. I need to check that out on mine.

I understand lack of sleep. Its now 3:35 am and I have yet to go to sleep, even with the Melatonin and Lunesta.
