Update
- I know you have all been really worried about my lost salad spinner! So I am glad to tell you, I found it! Oddly enough, it was in the cupboard where it was supposed to have been but pushed right to the back. I normally don’t use this cupboard too much because, first, I have to bend down to get into it and i don’t do bend down too well these days, and secondly, it is narrow but very deep which usually means everything in front has to come out before I can get to the stuff at the back. Anyway, I moved the salad spinner {which I use quite a lot] to the cupboard above the stove, so when I lose it again, you can all chorus, "Look in the cupboard above the stove!"
- I was late going to bed last night, but I woke at 7:30. Because I really want to go back to my early-to-bed-and-early-to-rise routine, I got up and got things done including a short stint on the treadmill. I set the timer for ten minutes but so far have only been able to do five. I am not worried. Ten minutes a day {I walk in the morning and the afternoon} is better than nothing, and I know from experience the length of time will improve eventually if I stick to doing it –my goal right now is to do this at least three days a week. I feel much better in my mind and have more energy even on 10 minutes a day…
- Yesterday, Diane and I went out to a thrift store in Burlington. I had enough sense to take my cane-that-opens-to-a-tiny-seat so when my back hurt, I was able to sit for a while. Diane found several sweaters she liked and she found me a pair of size 11 boots! They were plain black and calf high. Now, it is highly unusual to find boots or shoes in my size in a thrift store so I did try them on and they fit very well. However, they were $35 and I just don’t have that much to spare at this point. I would have scrimped to get them if it wasn’t for the fact that I actually have two pairs of boots already– well, three if you count my walking-in-the-snow waterproof boots! But I did buy one thing, a pair of purple gloves!
- This morning I have been watching a DVD of the Charles Dickens’ book Our Mutual Friend. It is one I have never read and so it was all new to me. I also got some tidying-up stuff done in the kitchen, too, and not before time. I need to mop the kitchen floor which I will do after lunch {a salad} and after the next five-plus minutes on the treadmill which will be done before I eat! Hmm, that has turned out to be a rather convoluted sentence!
- OK, it is 12:15 so I am off to walk on the treadmill, have lunch and mop the already-swept kitchen floor.
Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers)

I WAS worried about that salad spinner! Every time I saw the note you left me about it, I would think, “I wonder if she found it yet.”

I knew you would find it, or it would find you! :o) !! You had a very industrious day. I need to have one when I am at home! But then again….after I’ve told myself that, I ask myself why! That housework I did a couple weeks ago should last a bit longer, shouldn’t it? :o) !! hugs, Nicky

Glad you found it. I have been putting things at eye level. I also don’t want to bend or reach unless I have to.
