Today
After I had done some of the writing the talk-therapy person, Judy, had suggested, I felt so much better. For the last four days, I have felt some of my natural optimism coming back. I didn’t realize how much I missed it until it until I felt it coming back. I had just dragged through the days doing the bare minimum and making no effort to do anything else. In the last four days, although my sleep pattern has not been good, I wake looking forward to the day and having a plan for something. Today I cleaned up the kitchen and oven-fried a chicken breast in the toaster oven. It was excellent and I had about half of it in my salad. The rest will be used up tomorrow.
Anyway, going back to Judy, she told me that I would probably get a lot of positive moments while I am away for three weeks. A different place, new people, seeing my son, sorting out what I am going to be doing in the next few months–I am cheered up thinking of it. And I really enjoy the physical act of traveling despite a tendency to feel as if I am going to throw up on planes! {Hmmm, do I have dramamine?} So, she said she would leave it to me to make the next appointment when I got back. I hope that by then I will have no need, but if I do need her, I will call and make an appointment.
Today I have done no preparation for leaving. But tomorrow I am going to take the calendar page I printed out from The Print Shop and start writing notes as to what I need to do on each day before I fly away on the 5th!
Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers)
You are not happy because you are well. You are well because you are
happy. You are not depressed because trouble has come to you, but
trouble has come to you because you are depressed. You can change
your thoughts and feelings, and then the outer things will come to
correspond, and indeed there is no other way of working.

I haven’t heard you mention your artwork in a while. Any chance that you’ll be picking that up again, might give you yet another thing to look forward to everyday and I imagine the leaves will be starting to change in Vermont soon, makes for some spectacular images.

I have scheduled a short 1000 mile train trip and look forward to it next month. I know you’ll love Carolina, they have such sugary accents. If you can find natives in the area. I try Waffle House and let the waitresses say, ‘Hi, Hun” when I enter. hehehehe They might say something southern to you. Enjoy the process and of course, be well; peace…dan
