Feeling Better

  • I privatized the previous entry. I thank you for your very kind notes.
  • I realized this morning that I had a yeast infection for which I bought and applied the appropriate medication. I am feel much better in every way.
  • Today for lunch I had a lovely tomato and lettuce sandwich and the tomato came off the plant that my very nice neighbor put in the ground for me.
  • In a couple of weeks I will be flying off to NC to visit my son. I am looking forward to this. However, it is, to me, an indication that I am as yet not back to normal in that I haven’t, as yet, sent him details of planes and times. Today he wrote and asked me for them.  Usually when I go on a trip I have it all organized weeks, if not months beforehand! I DO have my tickets bought and, as I told him, I will send him all the details tomorrow!
  • Today the only useful thing I have done  is to vacuum the kitchen floor. Well, I did cook supper–a couple of chicken strips, frozen peas and and a real potato. I spent the rest of the day on the bed letting the medication for the yeast infection do its work and rereading Harry Harrison’s Death Planet. I also have Bill, the Galactic Hero to reread.

Things that I plan to do tomorrow:

  1. Send email with information to my son
  2. Mop the kitchen floor
  3. Vacuum and mop the bathroom floor
  4. Read a lot!

Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers)

You are not happy because you are well. You are well because you are

happy. You are not depressed because trouble has come to you, but

trouble has come to you because you are depressed. You can change

your thoughts and feelings, and then the outer things will come to

correspond, and indeed there is no other way of working.

Proper cooking, letting medication work and reading are all useful in my book! Plus – you talked to us!

All very good remedies. Hope you’re feeling better! I’ve run across that Mr. Rogers quote no less than half a dozen times in the past week or so. Universe putting it out there I suppose?

I’m so glad you’re feeling better. And I think it was a good idea to take it easy today, kick back with a good book.

The only “reading a lot” on my list these days is the books I “read” while driving around in the car! I’m glad you are getting better!

I’m so glad you are feeling better. Seems that life is full of ups and downs.

I like the read a lot. I think as we get older, we get more relaxed in planning. I think because things can change.

I agree with your first noter….reading and relaxing are VERY useful! :o) !! They’re part of “taking care of yourself,” and as your friends who very much love and value you, we all want you to do that! :o) !! hugs, Nicky

Doing useful things is good. However, Winnie-the-Pooh is my hero, and I like days where I just go out and do nothing. Delighted you are better.

as long as reading was in there… you had a good day! take care,

Fresh tomatoes taste so much nicer don’t they? 🙂

Ugggh…yeast infections are nasty. Like yourself, I take care of it at the first signs. Ick!
