Getting Things Done

I have spent most of this day so far cleaning the refrigerator. It was truly disgusting and there was a nasty smell {which I tracked down and I disposed of the source.} Every time i got a shelf out, I put it in the sink to soak in hot water before scrubbing and rinsing it. I took a couple of half-hour breaks where I walked away from it and played a mindless game or two, and then I went back and now it is FINISHED!! I am going to the grocery store to get something to put in it! Again, we are out of almost everything..

I don’t think I mentioned I have been searching the house and car for my {I can hear you all chanting "cellphone!" } No, Fred has my cell phone.   He can’t get a very good signal so we get cut off a lot but it is better than nothing. No, what I had lost was my red wallet. I wasn’t panicking over-much because it had no credit cards in there so all I would lose was money. It is not that I can afford to lose money, but rather that than credit cards because they are such a hassle to replace. During one of the refrigerator-cleaning breaks, I remember that on Sunday after I had visited Fred, I had gone  into the local McDonalds to get an ice cream cone.  I called them and asked for the manager and asked if anyone had found and turned in a red wallet. The manager said, " What is your name?" I told her and she said, yes,  a customer had found it under a seat and had turned it in to the night manager on Sunday night! It was found it on the floor under my seat! Most of you know that I walk with a cane and that makes carrying stuff on a tray using only one hand a trifle tricky. I had set my tray down on  a table and unhooked the cross-body purse I wear and tossed it into the bench seat beside me and it must have been then the wallet came out of my purse. Nothing is missing! I am amazed and thankful. I asked if anyone knew who the customer was and no one did but they said they would ask the night manager when she came on. Fred suggested I leave a card with my info on it for the night manager. If I can locate the honest person who turned it in, I would be happy to offer him or her a reward.

I had an appointment to see my regular doctor today and get a prescription for Lisinopril which is what I was given in hospital when my blood pressure got so high. The clinic I go to has a routine automated phonecall the day or two before one has an appointment and this message told me that the appointment was tomorrow rather than today. So, I called this morning to check, and apparently *I* had made an appointment for today and and someone from the hospital had made an appointment for me for tomorrow. The one I made was in the afternoon; the other one was at 8 am tomorrow morning. Now, I much prefer morning appointments because there is usually very little waiting around. So, I cancelled today’s and will go tomorrow instead. This will give me plenty of time to go see Fred later in the day. I didn’t see him today because I had planned the refrigerator cleaning in the morning and thought I had an appointment with the doctor in the afternoon!

Ok, time to dispose of the smelly trash bag of "stuff" from the refrigerator and then I will go to the grocery store and get new food.  In writing this, I realize that I have run out of energy for the day so I will eat cereal for the next meal and fit in a quick trip for food tomorrow…

Give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way.

Ugh. Cleaning the fridge – one of the dreaded projects in my house! Don’t like the cleaning, but I love the results.

*random reader* be careful with the lisinopril. i was given that when i was in the hospital as well and ended up with a severe allergic reaction to it. mimicked symptoms of a heart attack.

I’m so glad your wallet was turned in and everything was intact! :o) !! I have left my purse in my shopping cart in the “cart corral” at the Food Lion parking lot THREE TIMES over the past eight or so years, and every time it got turned in with everything still in it. We are both so lucky! :o) !! Lisinopril is what Joe takes. I took it for a very short while and it made me cough so bad I couldn’t go ANYWHERE; I could hardly even drive! So I take something else. Good for you for getting that fridge cleaned out. Mine is still waiting…. hugs, Nicky

I’m trying to remember if I’ve EVER cleaned my fridge. It’s only about 10-12 years old. The answer is, “I don’t think so.” Hmmm….Do you think that maybe it needs it? The good news is, it has glass shelves. I can take them out and run them through the dishwasher, if they’ll fit.

RYN: Atenolol and Lisinopril both gave me the same symptoms. Atenolol put me in the hospital, everyone thinking I had a heart attack and when they found I didn’t have one, I then had to have a heart cath done. All because of an allergic reaction to Atenolol. They put me on Lisinopril after that, and after about 2 months, I started having the same exact reaction as the Atenolol. So now I’m onHCTZ and Losarten, which seem to be doing the job pretty good. Good luck with it!

Do you still do art/painting? I remember when you did various paintings of eyes. I remember you are very talented!

YUCK! I need to clean our fridge too. That’s one job I hate doing! So glad that someone turned your wallet in. You don’t necessarily find all that many honest people out there these days. Hugs,M

Thank goodness for honest people! I love the looks of a just cleaned fridge.
