• Fred is just starting to get over a very nasty experience with a bladder  infection.
• This has included a doctor-mandated visit to the emergency room by ambulance and lots of unpleasant tests run.
• We were, to tell the truth, actually relieved to find out that although what he had was painful, it is very treatable.
• Today was the second day of a very expensive seven-day course of a strong antibiotic.
• He is still in pain but, after 36 hours of next to no sleep, he has started to be able to sleep for a short time this morning. I am hoping he will do better tonight.
• Last night, I didn’t sleep at all. I dozed for about two hours today and feel a bit better. I hope I will sleep all night tonight.
• Despite a painful back, and, of course, no sleep last night, I feel quite pleased with myself because today I got three big loads of laundry done and put away.

• Tomorrow a visiting nurse comes to check on him. I am scheduled to have a flu shot but the nurse said she wants Fred to be over the infection his immune system and the antibiotics are dealing with.
