GPS Update
Thursday morning my GPS died. That would be my NEW GPS. I had it charging from my computer so I could use it when I went out to K.’s house for two hours of art. I ejected it properly from the computer and tried to turn it on to get the entry for K. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.
I was really upset because although I vaguely * remembered the route, I had thrown away the detailed instructions she sent me. So, I picked up my phone and called her. I was a bit embarrassed to tell her I wasn’t coming because my GPS was dead, but just as she picked up the phone, there was a HUGE clap of thunder and down came the rain, so I used that as the excuse for not coming! {If the GPS had been working, I would have told her I would be a bit late because I was going to wait for the storm to be nearly over since I don’t like driving in heavy rain!}
Fortunately I had bought it from Amazon. Amazon’s customer service is what CS should be but seldom is. I filled out a form on line and got an email back which enabled me to print out a sheet to go in the box and a label for free shipping. But the best part was that they overnight shipped me a new one which arrived 10 minutes ago and which is charging right now. I have 30 days to pack up the old one and send it back. I will pack it up over the weekend using the box that this new one came in and probably get it to UPS on Monday!
*Both my sons have the navigator gene! They definitely didn’t get it from me!
"We are taught you must blame your father, your sisters, your brothers, the school, the teachers – but never blame yourself. It’s never your fault. But it’s always your fault, because if you wanted to change, you’re the one who has got to change." — Katherine Hepburn

I must admit, GPS is the best invention since sliced bread (as they say) 🙂 You even get it on your mobile phone! x

Oh, my heck! I hate when stuff is defective upon arrival. A battery that won’t charge is the pits. Can’t you use it while it’s pugged in to the cigarette lighter? I do that all the time. Just curious. It’s still good to get a non-defective one.

Another friend of mine loves to travel but has no “navigator gene,” so she has TWO GPS’s…. both in the same car…. one, for just in case the first one stops working! If I had to drive around a lot to new places on my own, I would have to do that, too…. because what if you are 500 miles from home and your GPS quits? If it was me, it might take me a year to find my way back home! ;o) !! hugs, Nicky

Another company that I found online and like very well is CSN Stores. I had one issue with a large item (broken piece), and they took care of it with a single phone call. I’ve bought other stuff from them, they carry some unusual items (and, it looks like, everything under the sun!). They even have customer service on Saturday and Sunday.
