Lazy Day
- I notice about myself that if I get things done on one day, it does no good to make plans for the next day since I don’t follow through! Today I have done nothing but read all day. In fact I have read so much that my vision is blurring. I am not worried about this since I experienced this when I first got the Kindle! I expect my vision will be back to normal tomorrow after a night’s sleep.
- And what am I reading? Well, I have just discovered Patrick Rothfuss. I have finished the first book which is called The Name of the Wind: The Kingkiller Chronicle: Day One and am about halfway through the second one, The Wise man’s Fear: The Kingkiller Chronicle: Day Two. I cannot tell as yet if this is a trilogy. If it is, I will definitely buy it when the third one comes out. It is difficult to explain the fascination these books have for me. If you like fantasy {but not the kind of fantasy with elves and unicorns } I think you will like these. Hmmm, I could go to his paper books to see if there is a third one. {pause to check this} No, the dead-tree-books page has only these two. I can buy the two I have as audio books, as hardcovers or as paperbacks but these, apparently, are the only books he has written…
- We still have what I insist on thinking of as a plague of grackles! They are actually too big for the feeders so cling to the sides and flap their wings. One of them eats tidily but another one pushes out the seed he doesn’t like and only slurps up what he does like.
- OK, I am getting hungry and Fred will be calling me to come and get the food soon!
I am grateful for my Kindle
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people
to know why I look this way. I’ve traveled a long way and some of the
roads weren’t paved.

I’m always interested in what you are reading even if I don’t think I’ll read it.

I’m not usually keen on fantasy…but I like to check out the books you mention because you have given me some VERY good leads in the past!(“One Thousand White Women”, for example….)

I don’t believe in making plans…they never seem to quite work out. I’m sort of a “fly by the seat of my pants” person. :o) ryn: The Rothfuss book looked interesting so it came home with me. I’ve not heard about him…it’s good to receive a good recommendation on the author. Thanks.
