Art, Visitors, Laundry & Floor Cleaners

  • Although it is Monday, I did not go to art class because this is the week that local children are off for spring break and Teresa has special classes for them.
  • I can’t say I have done a lot of painting so far but I have piddled around doing backgrounds which, some day I will use. Actually, that works very well for me because I forget the backgrounds until one day, I put them up and contemplate them for a while and then turn them into something!
  • We had company this past weekend with Fred’s twin daughters and their respective spouses coming over for a while over two days. They give Fred a big pickup,  but after a while, they have the opposite effect on me. This is NOT to say I dislike them in any way. They are very nice people and I can truthfully say I am very fond of them, but I honestly can’t take people of any kind for long periods! So, when I say  it is not them, it is me, I am being totally accurate.
  • Today I am doing laundry or, more accurately, the clever machines in the basement are doing laundry. My part in it is to move clothes from one machine to another and put them away!
  • I think I have mentioned that I got a steam floor cleaner and a couple of days ago I used it for the first time on the kitchen and bathroom floors. It is a Eureka 313 A Enviro Hard-Surface Floor Steamer. I have used it once and, so far, I am very pleased with it. If I run into any problems with it along the line, I will report. I was reading reviews as I always do and ran across one in which the writer complained that when the floor pads were washed and dried in machines, they shrunk. Well, if she or he had read the manual, it says just that! I dunked the pad I used in the sink and in warm water and dish washing detergent a few times, rubbed the dirt that didn’t come out in the dunking  with a brush, dunked it up and down a couple of times in clean water and put it outside to air dry and it is as good as new. One person said she needed a new pad but instead put a small towel over the old pad and clipped the layers tightly and that worked very well because she could throw the dirty towel in the washer! {The pads are held on by two very efficient and easy-to-use clips. The instruction manual warns owners NOT to put their fingers under these clips because the clips have spikes!}
  • I am patiently waiting for a phone call to say my new lenses are in.

I am grateful for real sunshine even though it is cold.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people

to know why I look this way. I’ve traveled a long way and some of the

roads weren’t paved.

I’ve wondered about those steam floor cleaners. I’ve looked mainly at the Shark, but it got some terrible reviews because it’s cheaply made (apparently). Maybe the newer models are better. On the other hand, my mop and bucket are free.

I have one of the Sharp steam cleaners and I like it very much. It also says on my directions not to use fabric softner on it. I hand wash mine and let air dry.

I understand about the company; I have it happen to me too.

I read some place that intelligent people don’t read directions; they think they know all the answers. Other people read them because they’re sure they don’t know all the answers.

My neighbor has a hard floor steam mop and she loves it. Yes, let us about your experience using it.
